Tensions and Unspoken Truths
Part 4
As if on cue, the sound of the shower turning off was followed by Andrew walking into the living room, a towel wrapped around his waist, his hair damp and messy. He smiled at Nick. "Hey, I'm done. You can go whenever you're ready." In that instant, Judd's attention was fully locked into Andrew, his eyes burning with an intensity that made Leah's skin prickle. There was something in Judd's gaze that made Andrew pause, but he didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary. Nick stood up, stretching his arms over his head. "Thanks, man. I'll go get cleaned up." He headed towards the bathroom, leaving Leah and Judd staring at Andrew. Leah felt the awkward energy building up, and she couldn't take it anymore. She stood up, smoothing her dress. "I'm going to go read a book. You guys... um... just chill, okay?" She gave Judd and Andrew a quick smile before hurrying out of the living room, leaving the two of them alone. The room fell silent, with Judd's eyes still fixed on Andrew. Andrew, oblivious to the tension, walked over to the coffee table and picked up the remote control. He flipped through the channels, humming to himself. Judd didn't move or blink. He just kept staring at Andrew, his expression unreadable. Andrew, starting to feel a little uncomfortable, glanced up, meeting Judd's gaze. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with unspoken emotions. Then, Judd's gaze dropped, and he looked away, his shoulders tensing. Andrew felt a shiver run down his spine. He had no idea what was going on, but he knew that something was off. He cleared his throat, trying to break the silence. "Hey, Judd, everything okay?" Judd's response was a low, gravelly sound that sent a shiver down Andrew's spine. "Yeah. Everything's fine." But Andrew knew that it wasn't. He could sense it. And as he sat there, trying to make small talk, he couldn't shake off the feeling that Judd was hiding something, something big.
