The Web of Deception
Part 13
Sophia's eyes seemed to bore into Asher's soul as she leaned forward, her voice low and menacing. "I must say, I'm impressed," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "I've never seen anyone spin a tale as convincingly as you two. But, I'm afraid it's too late for that." Asher's heart sank as he realized that they had been caught. He glanced at Ethan, who was looking like a trapped animal, his eyes darting wildly around the room. Sophia's expression softened slightly as she leaned back in her chair. "You see, I have a sister who's a bit of a...let's call her a fan of yours, Ethan." She smiled sweetly. "Her name is Rachel, and she's been following your online activities for quite some time." Asher's eyes widened as he turned to Ethan, who looked like he had been punched in the gut. "You didn't think I wouldn't find out, did you?" Sophia continued, her voice laced with amusement. "Rachel has been keeping me informed about your little escapades, and I must say, I'm a bit disappointed." Ethan's face went white as he realized the extent of his mistake. "Rachel?" he stammered. "How did she...?" Sophia chuckled. "Let's just say that Rachel is very resourceful. She's been tracking your online activities, and she's been feeding me information about your little games." Asher's mind reeled as he tried to process the situation. They had been caught, and it seemed that Sophia's sister had been the one to blow their cover. Sophia leaned forward again, her eyes glinting with a mixture of anger and amusement. "Now, I think it's time we had a little chat about what really goes on between you two. And I think it's time you told me the truth." Asher exchanged a nervous glance with Ethan, who looked like he was about to pass out. They were in deep trouble, and Asher had no idea how they were going to get out of this mess. The silence in the room was oppressive, and Asher could feel the weight of Sophia's gaze on him. He knew that they had to come clean, but he was scared of the consequences. "What do you want to know?" Asher asked finally, his voice barely above a whisper. Sophia smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "Oh, I think I already know most of it," she said. "But I want to hear it from your lips. What's really going on between you two?" Asher took a deep breath, knowing that they were about to embark on a journey from which there was no return. He glanced at Ethan, who nodded almost imperceptibly. "It's not what you think," Asher began, his voice hesitant. "We're not who you think we are." Sophia's eyes narrowed, her expression unreadable. "Go on," she said, her voice low and menacing.
