A New Complication

Part 6

One morning, Zelda woke up to find Link's condition had taken a turn for the worse. She had been checking on him frequently throughout the night, but it seemed that his symptoms had escalated while she had dozed off. As she approached his bedside, she noticed that he had a slight rash on his chin, which she hadn't seen before. His skin felt hot to the touch, and she realized that he had developed a fever. Zelda's heart sank as she saw Link's body trembling and sweating. He was vomiting, and the healer's remedies from the previous day seemed to have had little effect. She called for the healer immediately, her voice laced with concern. The healer arrived quickly, her face etched with worry as she took in Link's condition. "This is not good," she said, her voice low and serious. "The rash, the fever, the vomiting... it's a combination of symptoms that suggests a deeper infection. We need to act quickly to treat this." Zelda felt a wave of fear wash over her. She had been so hopeful that Link was on the mend, but now it seemed that his condition was spiraling out of control. She watched as the healer administered a new treatment, one that seemed to involve a series of injections and potions. As the day wore on, Zelda couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong. She knew that Link's condition was not just a personal concern, but also a matter of state. The kingdom was already abuzz with rumors about Link's illness, and she had heard whispers of dark magic and curses being spread by malicious gossipmongers. The healer seemed to sense her unease, and she placed a reassuring hand on Zelda's shoulder. "We will do everything in our power to help Link recover," she said. "But we must be prepared for the worst. The rumors and speculation will only make it harder for us to treat him." Zelda nodded, her mind racing with thoughts of the kingdom and its people. She knew that she had to act quickly to quell the rumors and speculation, but she also knew that she couldn't do it alone. She needed the help of the healer, and the rest of the kingdom's leaders, to get to the bottom of Link's condition and find a cure. As she looked at Link, who was struggling to keep down a bowl of broth, Zelda felt a surge of determination. She would do whatever it took to help him recover, and she would not let the rumors and speculation tear the kingdom apart. She would find a way to save Link, no matter what it took.
