**Chapter 7: The Poisoned Plate**
Part 7
Tokyo's words hung in the air like a challenge, and Dr. Lee's expression turned from concern to curiosity. She leaned in closer, her eyes locked onto Tokyo's. "What do you mean, the food wasn't an accident?" she asked, her voice gentle but firm. Tokyo's gaze darted around the room again, as if she feared being overheard. Her voice was barely above a whisper, but her words sent a shiver down your spine. "I... I think someone poisoned me," she whispered. The nurse and Dr. Lee exchanged a worried glance, and the nurse stepped forward, her hands fluttering over Tokyo's bedside table. "We're going to get to the bottom of this, Tokyo," she said reassuringly. "But first, we need to get you stable and comfortable." Dr. Lee nodded, her eyes never leaving Tokyo's face. "Can you tell us more about what happened?" she asked. "Who do you think could have done this to you?" Tokyo's eyes clouded over, and she seemed to retreat into herself. You could see the fear and uncertainty etched on her face, and it broke your heart. "I... I don't know," she whispered. "It was just a normal meal, I think. I don't remember anything unusual." The nurse brought in a cup of water, and Dr. Lee helped Tokyo take a sip. The ice-cold water seemed to revive her slightly, and she took a deep breath before continuing. "But... but I did notice something," she said, her voice still barely above a whisper. "The food was... different. It tasted... off." Dr. Lee's expression turned thoughtful. "What do you mean by 'off'?" she asked. Tokyo's eyes locked onto yours, and you saw a flicker of desperation there. "It was... sweet," she said. "But not just sweet. It was... metallic. Like someone had poured sugar and metal into the food." The nurse and Dr. Lee exchanged another glance, this one more serious. "We're going to run some tests," Dr. Lee said. "And we're going to review the hospital's security footage to see if we can find out what happened." You sat beside Tokyo, holding her hand and trying to offer what comfort you could. But your mind was racing. Who could have done this to Tokyo? And why? As the nurse and Dr. Lee continued to tend to Tokyo, you noticed something on the bedside table. The piece of paper with the cryptic message "They're watching" was still there, staring up at you like a warning. Suddenly, the hospital room seemed smaller, more claustrophobic. You felt like you were being watched, and the hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. You glanced around the room, but there was no one else there. The nurse and Dr. Lee were focused on Tokyo, and the hospital room was quiet. But the feeling persisted. They were watching. And you had a feeling that they were just getting started.
