Spilling the Beans
Part 47
As we stood there, Izuku's smile suddenly faltered, and he looked at me with a mischievous glint in his eye. I had a feeling that I wasn't going to like what was about to come out of his mouth. "You know, I think it's only fair that I share what happened with the others," he said, a sly grin spreading across his face. My heart sank, and I felt my face heat up with embarrassment all over again. "Izuku, no, please don't," I begged, trying to grab his arm. But it was too late. Izuku was already walking away, calling out to the other boys who were hanging out nearby. "Hey, guys, gather 'round," he said, his voice loud and clear. The boys turned to face him, curiosity etched on their faces. Izuku took a deep breath and launched into the story, exaggerating it for comedic effect, no doubt. "So, you won't believe what just happened," he said, chuckling. "This person," he nodded towards me, "just kissed me out of the blue." The boys' eyes widened in surprise, and they started to snicker and tease Izuku. I felt my face burning with embarrassment as they started to ask him questions and make jokes. Meanwhile, I knew I had to tell the girls what happened, or they would find out from someone else and it would be even more embarrassing. I took a deep breath and walked over to where the girls were sitting. "Hey, guys, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, trying to sound casual. They looked up at me with concern, and I took a deep breath before launching into the story. "So, Izuku and I were just talking, and I did something really stupid," I said, trying to downplay it. "I kissed him." Their eyes widened in surprise, and they started to ask me questions and offer words of encouragement. Mina, being the sweetheart that she was, put a comforting arm around my shoulders. "It's okay, it happens," she said. "And Izuku seems like he's taking it well." I smiled weakly, feeling a mix of emotions. I was glad that I had told them, but I was also mortified that everyone knew about it now. I just hoped that Izuku and I could move past this and go back to being friends. As I stood there, I couldn't help but wonder what the aftermath of this would be. Would things go back to normal, or would this incident change the dynamics of our group? Only time would tell.
