"Finding Solace in Each Other"
Part 17
As the afternoon sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room, Sabrina suggested they order some takeout and watch a movie together. Maya agreed, and Sabrina got up to grab her phone and start searching for nearby restaurants. The sound of Sabrina's fingers typing away on her phone was soothing, and Maya felt her eyelids growing heavy as she watched her girlfriend move around the room. Sabrina settled on a nearby Italian place that delivered, and she quickly placed the order. She then turned her attention to Maya, helping her get comfortable on the bed with a few extra pillows and a soft blanket. Maya snuggled into the pillows, feeling grateful for Sabrina's care and concern. The food arrived about 30 minutes later, and Sabrina helped Maya sit up and eat a few bites of pasta. Maya was grateful for Sabrina's gentle prodding, as she didn't feel like cooking or eating, but Sabrina insisted that she needed to keep her strength up. As they ate, Sabrina kept up a steady stream of conversation, telling Maya about her day, and the silly things she had seen on social media. Maya listened int, a small smile playing on her lips as she laughed at Sabrina's impressions of her favorite TV show. It was nice to have something to distract her from her thoughts, and she felt grateful to have Sabrina by her side. As they finished their meal, Sabrina suggested they take a long, hot bath together to help Maya relax. Maya agreed, and Sabrina helped her get cleaned up and into the bathroom. The warm water and bubbles felt amazing on Maya's skin, and she let out a contented sigh as she leaned back against Sabrina. The gentle rocking motion of the water and Sabrina's soothing presence helped to calm Maya's frazzled nerves. As they soaked in the tub, Sabrina gently asked Maya about her plans for the rest of the day. Maya thought for a moment, then shook her head. "I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just want to feel okay again." Sabrina nodded understandingly. "We'll get there, Maya. You're safe now. You can take all the time you need to heal and feel better." Maya felt a lump form in her throat as she looked at Sabrina. She was so grateful to have her in her life. The bath helped to ease Maya's tension, and she felt a sense of calm wash over her as the water worked its magic. Sabrina got out of the tub and helped Maya get dried off, then wrapped her in a warm towel. Maya felt like a kid again, being cared for and pampered by her girlfriend. As they got out of the tub and started getting ready for the evening, Sabrina mentioned that she had a few phone calls to make. Maya assumed they were work-related, but she didn't pry. She was just happy to have Sabrina's support and care. Sabrina got dressed and headed out to the living room, with Maya following closely behind. As Sabrina started making some phone calls, Maya settled onto the couch, feeling grateful for the quiet evening ahead. She knew that she still had a long way to go in terms of healing and recovery, but with Sabrina by her side, she felt like she could face anything. The sound of Sabrina's voice on the phone and her gentle movements as she talked calmed Maya, and she felt her eyelids growing heavy. Before she knew it, Maya had drifted off to sleep, lulled by the sound of Sabrina's voice and the warmth of the room. When she woke up, Sabrina was sitting next to her on the couch, holding her hand and smiling softly. "Hey, sleepyhead," Sabrina whispered. "I think it's time for bed. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow." Maya nodded, feeling grateful for Sabrina's care and concern. As they drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's arms, Maya felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she still had a long way to go, but with Sabrina by her side, she felt like she could face anything.
