"The Dark Awakening"
Part 2
The library had been my sanctuary, a place where I could escape the chaos that had engulfed my life since my mother's passing. I had spent hours poring over books, searching for answers to questions I didn't even know how to ask. But as I sat at a table, surrounded by stacks of dusty tomes, I felt a strange sensation wash over me. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in my attic, my head pounding and my mouth dry. As I slowly came to, I realized that I was tied to a chair, my wrists and ankles bound by thick ropes. I struggled against the restraints, but they only seemed to tighten. That's when I saw him, Professor Harry Greenwood, standing in front of me, his eyes fixed intently on mine. He was watching me, his expression unreadable. I tried to speak, but my voice was hoarse and barely audible. "What...what's going on?" I stammered. Professor Greenwood didn't respond, he just kept staring at me, his eyes seeming to bore into my soul. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that I was completely at his mercy. I looked around the attic, trying to take in my surroundings. The room was dimly lit, with only a few rays of sunlight filtering through the dusty windows. The air was thick with the scent of old books and decay. I saw the Book of Shadows on a nearby table, its strange symbol seeming to pulse with a malevolent energy. Professor Greenwood's eyes followed mine, and he smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "You've been searching for answers, haven't you?" he said, his voice low and menacing. "You've been trying to uncover the secrets of your family's past." I nodded, my mind racing. How did he know? What did he want from me? I tried to speak, but my voice was trapped in my throat. Professor Greenwood took a step closer, his eyes glinting with an otherworldly intensity. "I can show you the truth," he said, his voice dripping with seduction. "I can show you the secrets that have been hidden for centuries." I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs. What was he talking about? What secrets could he possibly reveal? But as I looked into his eyes, I saw something there that made my blood run cold. Something that made me realize that I was in grave danger. And then, everything went black again.
