Awakening to Reality

Mitsuba's eyes slowly fluttered open, and he was met with the warm glow of sunlight peeking through the windows. He blinked a few times, trying to shake off the haze of sleep, and that's when he saw Kou lying beside him, fast asleep. The events of the previous night came flooding back, and Mitsuba realized that he had spent the night at Kou's place. The dream he had just had was just that – a dream. Mitsuba's heart swelled with emotion as he gazed at him, feeling a sense of gratitude that he had woken up next to this person. The sunlight streaming through the windows highlighted the sharp lines of Kou's features, making him look even more handsome in the morning light. As he lay there, lost in thought, Kou stirred beside him. His eyes fluttered open, and he looked up at Mitsuba with a sleepy smile. "Good morning," he said, his voice husky from sleep. Mitsuba's heart skipped a beat as he smiled back at Kou. "Good morning," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. The two of them lay there for a moment, just looking at each other, the tension between them palpable.
