"Chaos and Heartbreak"
Part 12
The hospital lights flashed by in a blur as Ashley and Travis rushed to the emergency room. The paramedics quickly assessed the situation and wheeled Ashley into the hospital, with Travis close behind. The doctor came out to meet them, a concerned look on his face. "Can you tell me what's been happening?" the doctor asked Ashley, his voice gentle. Ashley explained the situation, and the doctor nodded sympathetically. "I'm going to need to do an ultrasound to see what's going on," he said. The doctor led them to a small room, and Ashley lay down on the examination table. Travis stood beside her, holding her hand. The doctor performed the ultrasound, and his expression turned somber. "I'm afraid you've had a miscarriage," he said gently. Ashley's eyes welled up with tears as Travis's face turned red with anger. "This is all your fault," he spat, his voice low and menacing. Ashley was taken aback by his outburst. "It's not my fault, Travis," she said, trying to calm him down. But Travis was beyond reason. He pulled his hand away from Ashley's and took a step back, his eyes blazing with anger. In a moment of rage, he lashed out and hit Ashley across the face. Ashley cried out in shock and pain as Travis's handprint appeared on her cheek. Maddy and Ender, who had been waiting in the waiting room, were startled by the commotion. They rushed into the examination room to find Ashley crying and holding her cheek, while Travis was still fuming. "Travis, stop!" Maddy shouted, rushing between Ashley and Travis. "What's wrong with you?" Travis's anger turned to Maddy, and he took a step towards her. But Ender quickly stepped in, his eyes flashing with anger. "Back off, Travis," he said. Ender helped Ashley out of the examination room, while Maddy stood up to Travis. "You're not welcome here," she said. "You need to calm down and think about what you've done." As they made their way to a quiet room, Ender pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "I need to tell Mrs. Johnson what happened," he said. Ashley nodded, still in shock from Travis's outburst. She couldn't believe that he had hit her, and in front of Maddy and Ender. As Ender spoke to his teacher on the phone, Ashley couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen next. She knew that she had to get away from Travis, but she didn't know how. All she knew was that she needed help, and fast. Ender finished the call and put away his phone. "Mrs. Johnson is on her way," he said. "She'll help us figure out what to do next." Ashley nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was grateful for her friends, and she knew that they would help her through this difficult time. But as she looked at Travis, who was still seething with anger, she knew that she had to be careful. She didn't know what he was capable of.
