**Confronting the Past**
Part 114
The morning sunlight streaming through the windows was a harsh reminder of the new day, one that I wasn't sure I was ready for. As I swung my legs over the side of the bed, Deku stirred beside me, his eyes fluttering open. I gave him a soft smile, trying to reassure him that I was okay, before turning my attention to Kirishima. He was sitting on the couch, his eyes fixed on me as I approached. I could sense a mix of emotions emanating from him - concern, worry, and a hint of frustration. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. "Kirishima," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. He sat up straight, his eyes locked onto mine. "Yeah?" I took another deep breath before blurting out the words. "They did. Dabi burned me, and Toga stabbed me." The room seemed to freeze, the air thick with tension. Kirishima's eyes widened in shock, his face pale. He looked like he'd been punched in the gut. Deku, Bakugo, and the others, who had been quietly observing from their beds, turned their attention to us, their faces etched with concern. Kirishima's face crumpled, and he leapt to his feet, rushing towards me. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug. I felt a wave of emotions wash over me - relief, comfort, and a sense of safety. "You're okay now," Kirishima whispered into my ear, his voice shaking with emotion. "I'll protect you, okay? You're safe now." I buried my face in his chest, feeling a lump form in my throat. His warmth, his scent, and his gentle touch were a balm to my frazzled nerves. For a moment, I just let myself be held, letting the weight of my emotions settle. As we stood there, the others began to stir, their voices a gentle hum in the background. Deku's hand on my shoulder was a gentle reminder that I wasn't alone, that they were all there for me. Kirishima pulled back, his eyes searching mine. "What happened?" he asked, his voice low and even. I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. But before I could respond, Kirishima's face hardened, his jaw clenched in determination. "We'll deal with them," he growled, his eyes flashing with anger. "They'll pay for what they did to you." I placed a hand on his arm, trying to calm him down. "Not now, Kirishima. Let's just focus on getting better, okay?" He nodded, his face still set in a determined expression. But I knew that this wasn't the end of it. The consequences of what had happened would have to be dealt with eventually. For now, I was just grateful to have Kirishima's arms around me, holding me close.
