"Jealousy and Desire"

Part 15

As Nia reached for her phone to clear the table, she noticed a text from Jake, her friend from college. Her heart sank slightly as she read the message, wondering what he wanted. She hadn't talked to him in a while, and she hoped he wasn't calling to catch up at an inconvenient time. She decided to call him back, and as she dialed his number, Jon looked up at her with a curious expression. "Hey, Jake, what's up?" Nia said, trying to sound casual. "Not much, just checking in," Jake replied. "But I did hear something that's got me a little concerned." Nia's instincts kicked in, and she sensed where this conversation was headed. "Concerned about what?" she asked, trying to keep her tone light. "About you and Jon," Jake said, his voice laced with a hint of disapproval. "I heard he's been sniffing around, trying to get with you." Nia felt a surge of annoyance, and her voice took on a slightly sharper tone. "Mind your own business, Jake. Whoever I spend time with is none of your concern." The line went silent for a moment, and Nia could almost hear Jake's displeasure through the phone. "I'm just looking out for you, Nia. I care about you." "I appreciate that, Jake, but I can take care of myself," Nia said firmly. "And I don't need you to police my love life." As she ended the call, Jon's eyes were fixed on her, his expression inscrutable. But Nia could sense the tension emanating from him, like a palpable force in the air. "Everything okay?" Jon asked, his voice low and even. Nia nodded, but Jon's gaze lingered on her, his eyes narrowing slightly. "So, that's Jake, huh?" he said, his tone neutral. Nia felt a spark of defensiveness ignite within her. "What's it to you?" she asked, trying to keep her tone light. Jon's expression darkened, and he stood up, his movements fluid and controlled. "I don't want you spending time with him," he said, his voice low and intense. Nia raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing in her eyes. "You can't dictate who I can and can't spend time with, Jon," she said, her voice firm. But Jon was beyond reason. He was fueled by a possessive jealousy that he couldn't quite control. He took a step closer to her, his eyes burning with intensity. "I'm not dictating anything," he said, his voice husky. "I'm just stating a fact. You belong with me, Nia. And I won't let anyone come between us." The air seemed to vibrate with tension as they faced off, their words hanging in the air like a challenge. And then, without warning, Jon's expression shifted, his eyes flashing with desire. He reached out and pulled her close, his lips crashing down on hers in a fierce, possessive kiss. Nia felt herself melting into him, her body responding to his touch like a reflex. They stumbled backwards, Jon's hands on her hips, and she felt herself being pinned against the wall. His mouth was on hers, devouring her, and his hands were roaming over her body, igniting a fire that threatened to consume her. As they made love against the wall, Nia felt a rush of adrenaline and desire. It was intense and primal, and she knew that she was his, completely and utterly. And in that moment, she didn't want to be with anyone else.
