Accidental Encounter
Part 3
The dimly lit hallway stretched out before Regulus, the soft hum of the fluorescent lights above creating an eerie silence. He had just left a meeting with one of his colleagues and was heading back to his office when he saw James turn a corner ahead of him. Regulus's eyes widened as he quickened his pace, hoping to avoid a confrontation. But it was too late. James had already seen him, and a hint of a smile played on his lips as he slowed down, allowing Regulus to catch up. Regulus felt a flush rise to his cheeks as he approached James, his heart racing with anticipation. "Hey," James said, his deep voice sending a shiver down Regulus's spine. "I didn't know you were in a hurry." Regulus shook his head, trying to play it cool. "Just heading back to my office." James nodded, his eyes never leaving Regulus's face. "Me too." As they walked side by side, Regulus couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. James's presence was imposing, his broad shoulders and chiseled features making Regulus feel small and vulnerable. As they approached the intersection of two hallways, Regulus's attention was focused on James, and he didn't notice the loose paving stone on the floor. His foot caught on it, and he stumbled, his arms flailing wildly as he tried to regain his balance. James reacted instinctively, his large hands reaching out to grab Regulus's waist, steadying him. For a moment, they stood there, Regulus's face inches from James's chest, his body pressed against the taller man's. Regulus felt a jolt of electricity run through him, his heart racing with excitement. He could feel James's warmth, his breath on his skin, and it sent shivers down his spine. James's hands were still on his waist, and Regulus could feel the heat emanating from them. He looked up, his eyes meeting James's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The air was charged with tension, and Regulus could feel the attraction between them building. He knew he should pull away, but his body seemed rooted to the spot. James's eyes seemed to bore into his soul, and Regulus felt like he was drowning in their depths. He could feel James's dominance, his power, and it was exhilarating. As they stood there, Regulus's eyes rolled back, and he felt a sense of submission wash over him. He wanted to surrender to James's power, to let the taller man take control. But James just smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and slowly released Regulus from his grasp. "You okay?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Regulus nodded, still feeling dazed. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." James nodded, his eyes never leaving Regulus's face. "No problem." As they parted ways, Regulus couldn't shake off the feeling that something had just shifted between them. The accidental encounter had awakened a spark, and he knew that he couldn't ignore it. He walked back to his office, his mind reeling with thoughts of James. He couldn't help but wonder what would happen if they were to cross paths again. Would James take control, or would Regulus be able to maintain his distance? The uncertainty was both thrilling and terrifying, and Regulus knew that he was in for a wild ride. As he sat down at his desk, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation, his eyes fixed on the door, waiting for James to walk back in.
