Distracted by Desire

Part 6

As Kael continued to observe Lady and Max from afar, he couldn't help but notice the way the moonlight danced across Lady's features, highlighting her porcelain skin and full lips. But it was her attire that really caught his attention - a low-cut, plunging neckline that exposed a generous amount of cleavage. Kael's eyes widened as he took in the sight, his mind momentarily forgetting about his true purpose. He had been tasked with determining whether the Lady's body parts would be suitable for the black market trade in human meat, a job he had taken on for the right price. But as he gazed at Lady, he found himself becoming increasingly distracted by her physical appearance. His eyes kept drifting back to her cleavage, and he felt a flutter in his chest that he hadn't experienced in a long time. Kael's thoughts grew muddled as he tried to reconcile his mission with his growing attraction to Lady. He had always prided himself on being a professional, able to separate his personal feelings from his work. But there was something about Lady that made him feel like a novice, unsure of how to proceed. As he sat there, frozen in indecision, Lady and Max began to get up from the bench, strolling hand in hand through the quiet streets of the city. Kael quickly snapped back to attention, remembering that he needed to keep following them if he was going to get any closer to his goal. He tucked his notebook away and began to tail them once more, his eyes fixed on the pair as they walked. But his mind kept wandering back to Lady's cleavage, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was in over his head. As they turned a corner, Kael found himself getting closer and closer, until he was practically right behind them. He could hear their conversation, a hushed murmur that was just out of earshot. Lady laughed, a throaty sound that sent shivers down Kael's spine, and he felt his distraction grow. What was he doing? Kael wondered, feeling a twinge of guilt. He had a job to do, and yet he couldn't seem to tear his eyes away from Lady. He knew that he needed to focus, to remember why he was really here. But as he gazed at Lady's back, he couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Was he really going to be able to do this? Kael wondered, his heart pounding in his chest. Or was he going to let his feelings get the better of him? Only time would tell.
