Chapter 17: A Dose of Reality

Part 17

"Reality Check" Lex's words hung in the air as she smiled at Jey, her tone low and husky. "Didn't you say you have to go to work, yk?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement. Jey's smile faltered for a moment, and he let out a deep sigh. "Yeah, I do," he said, reluctance evident in his voice. "I have a meeting with one of my suppliers in an hour." Lex nodded, feeling a pang of disappointment. She had been so caught up in the moment that she had forgotten about the real world outside their little bubble. "I have to go to work too, yk," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Jey's eyes locked onto hers, and he pulled her into a sitting position. "What's your schedule like today?" he asked, his voice filled with a sense of curiosity. Lex shrugged. "I've got a few meetings lined up, and then I'm supposed to work on a project with one of my colleagues." Jey nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "I have to go, but I don't want to leave you," he said, his voice low and husky. Lex smiled, feeling a surge of affection for him. "I know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But we can't stay in bed all day." Jey chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I wish we could," he said, his voice filled with longing. As they sat there, Lex felt a sense of reality creeping back into her life. She knew that she and Jey couldn't stay in their little bubble forever, but for now, she was happy to savor the moment. Jey stood up, his movements fluid and confident. "I'll walk you to the kitchen," he said, his voice low and husky. "We can get some coffee going." Lex nodded, feeling a sense of excitement at the prospect of spending more time with him. As they walked to the kitchen, she couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the time they had together. As they stood at the counter, Jey wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her back into his chest. "I'll call you during my meeting," he said, his voice low and husky. Lex smiled, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect of hearing from him. "I'll look forward to it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As Jey kissed her neck, Lex felt a shiver run down her spine. She knew that she was in trouble, and she couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
