Chapter 57: Darkness Closes In

Part 57

"No, wait! What? I was just with him! Why am I back here? Why, why?! Please, don't do anything, please!" I begged, my voice shaking with desperation as I scrambled to the edge of the bed, my eyes fixed on Tomura Shigaraki. Tomura's smile faltered for a moment, and he raised an eyebrow, seemingly taken aback by my outburst. "Ah, I see you're still a bit disoriented," he said, his tone dripping with amusement. "Let me refresh your memory. You, my dear, are a guest of the League of Villains. And you're going to be staying with us for a while." I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs. "No, no, no! This can't be happening! I was just with Dabi, we were walking, and...and...I don't know how I got here!" I exclaimed, my voice rising to a hysterical pitch. Tomura chuckled, his eyes glinting with mirth. "Dabi, yes...He's a bit of a complicated individual, isn't he? But don't worry, he'll be here soon. And when he is, you'll understand everything." I felt a surge of fear at his words. What did Dabi have to do with this? Was he in on it? Was he working with the League of Villains? The thought sent a chill down my spine. Suddenly, the door creaked open again, and Dabi walked in. He looked at me with an expressionless face, his eyes unreadable. I felt a pang of relief, but it was short-lived. "Dabi," I said, my voice shaking. "What's going on? Why am I here?" Dabi didn't respond. Instead, he walked up to Tomura and whispered something in his ear. Tomura nodded, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Ah, yes...I almost forgot," Tomura said, his eyes glinting with excitement. "We have a special task in mind for you. One that requires your...unique abilities." I felt a sense of dread wash over me. What did they want from me? What kind of task could they possibly have in mind? "No," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "Please, don't make me do anything. I'll do anything, just don't hurt me." Tomura's grin grew wider. "Oh, don't worry," he said. "We won't hurt you...at least, not yet. But you will do as we say. You will cooperate. Or...well, let's just say you won't be leaving this place alive." I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I realized the gravity of my situation. I was trapped, and I had no idea what the League of Villains had planned for me.
