"Protection and Possession"

Part 4

As Hange's words faded away, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. The tension in the room dissipated, replaced by a sense of calm and security. I took a step closer to Hange, my heart still racing from the encounter with my father. Hange's eyes never left mine, his gaze holding me in place as I approached him. Without thinking, I reached out and touched his arm, my fingers brushing against his skin. The moment my skin made contact with his, I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. Hange's eyes flashed with surprise, and for a moment, he seemed to forget about the scene that had just unfolded. "Kobu," he whispered, his voice low and husky. "What are you doing?" I didn't respond, I simply continued to touch him, my fingers tracing the contours of his arm. Hange's skin was warm, his muscles tense beneath my fingertips. I could feel his heartbeat, rapid and strong, and it seemed to match the rhythm of my own. As I touched him, I felt a sense of connection, a sense of belonging. I knew that Hange would do anything to protect me, to keep me safe. And in that moment, I knew that I would do anything to be with him, to be close to him. Hange's eyes seemed to bore into mine, searching for something. I wasn't sure what he was looking for, but I knew that he saw something in me that made him pause. His gaze softened, his expression relaxing into something gentle. Slowly, he reached out and covered my hand with his. His fingers intertwined with mine, holding me in place. I felt a surge of excitement, my heart racing with anticipation. "We need to get out of here," he said, his voice low and husky. "This place is not safe for you." I nodded, my mind still reeling from the encounter with my father. Hange's grip on my hand tightened, and he pulled me towards the door. As we stepped out into the hallway, I was struck by the eerie silence. The security guards were nowhere to be seen, and the corridors seemed deserted. Hange's eyes scanned the area, his gaze alert and watchful. "Where are we going?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Hange's eyes locked onto mine, a small smile playing on his lips. "Somewhere safe," he said. "Somewhere just for us." With that, he pulled me into a sprint, his long strides eating up the distance as we ran down the corridor. I had to jog to keep up with him, my heart pounding in my chest. I didn't know where we were going, but I knew that I was safe with Hange. And that was all that mattered.
