Metamorphosis
Part 2
Regulus stepped off the bus and onto the familiar driveway of his family's townhouse, feeling the warm sun on his skin and a sense of excitement in the air. The Black family had always been known for their dark and foreboding presence, but Regulus couldn't shake the feeling that this summer was going to bring about a change. As he entered the house, Regulus was greeted by his mother, Druella, who was lounging on the couch, sipping a glass of wine. "Ah, Regulus, darling, you look like you've had a rough summer already," she said, eyeing his acne and unruly hair. Regulus felt a flush rise to his cheeks as he dropped his bags onto the floor. "I'm fine, Mother," he muttered, trying to brush off her concern. But Druella was not one to be easily deterred. She set her glass down and stood up, her eyes narrowing as she examined her son. "Regulus, you need to do something about yourself. You're going back to Hogwarts in a few weeks, and you can't possibly go back looking like...that." Regulus felt a surge of defensiveness, but his mother was not having it. She marched him off to the local salon, where he was subjected to a series of treatments and makeovers. His hair was styled, his skin was cleared, and his teeth were straightened. It was a transformation that Regulus had never experienced before, and he couldn't help but feel a little like a different person. As the days went by, Regulus found himself growing more and more confident. He started to enjoy the attention and admiration he received from his family and friends, and he began to see himself in a new light. When the day finally arrived for Regulus to return to Hogwarts, he stepped off the Hogwarts Express and onto the platform, feeling like a completely different person. His hair was sleek and stylish, his skin was clear and radiant, and his eyes sparkled with confidence. As he made his way through the crowds of students, Regulus couldn't help but notice the admiring glances he received. He felt a sense of pride and self-assurance that he had never felt before, and he knew that this year was going to be different. The old Regulus Black was gone, replaced by a new and improved version. Professor McGonagall, the Transfiguration teacher, looked up from her notes and raised an eyebrow as Regulus walked into her classroom. "Ah, Regulus Black, I see you've had a...transformative summer," she said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. Regulus grinned, feeling a sense of satisfaction. He knew that he had finally found his place in the world, and he was ready to take on whatever Hogwarts had in store for him.
