**Chapter 2: Web of Deception**

Part 2

As Lando approached, Oscar's instincts kicked in, and he subtly positioned himself to keep a watchful eye on his friend. Lando seemed oblivious to the tension, flashing Oscar a charming smile as he sauntered across the rooftop. "So, Spidey, what's the plan?" Lando asked, his eyes scanning the area. "I heard the lab is owned by NeuroSpark, a cutting-edge tech firm working on advanced AI systems. Something big is going down, and I aim to get to the bottom of it." Oscar raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Lando's knowledge. "What makes you think that?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant. Lando chuckled, snapping a photo of the city skyline with his phone. "Let's just say I have my sources. Besides, I've been following your Spiderman exploits for a while now. I've got a few connections in the know." Oscar's spider-sense tingled, and he wondered if Lando was more than just a curious bystander. He decided to keep his distance, not wanting to arouse suspicion. Just then, a loud alarm blared from the lab, and the sound of shattering glass echoed through the night air. The robbers had breached the security system. Without hesitation, Oscar sprang into action, web-slinging his way towards the lab. Lando followed close behind, his eyes fixed on Oscar's web-slinging form. As they approached the lab, Oscar spotted Carlos Sainz, still standing by the entrance. This time, he was accompanied by a group of heavily armed guards. "Carlos, what's going on?" Oscar asked, trying to keep his tone neutral. Carlos turned, his eyes locking onto Oscar's. For a moment, they stared at each other, the tension palpable. "I could ask you the same thing, Spiderman," Carlos replied, his voice low and smooth. "I'm here to help. These guards are with me." Oscar's eyes narrowed. He didn't trust Carlos, not yet. But with Lando watching from a distance, he had to tread carefully. The robbers, a group of highly trained individuals, emerged from the lab, carrying crates of advanced AI technology. Oscar knew he had to act fast. With a swift motion, he launched a web shooter at the robbers, ensnaring them in a sticky web. The guards, seemingly loyal to Carlos, hesitated before joining the fray. As the battle intensified, Oscar found himself fighting alongside Carlos and the guards. Lando, meanwhile, slipped into the shadows, his eyes fixed on the crates of stolen technology. As the dust settled, Oscar turned to Carlos, his eyes searching for answers. "What's going on, Sainz? What were you doing here?" Carlos smiled, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes. "Let's just say I'm working on a little side project, Spiderman. One that requires my...particular set of skills." Oscar's spider-sense went into overdrive. What was Carlos hiding? And what did Lando know that he wasn't telling? As the authorities arrived, Oscar knew he had to keep a close eye on Carlos and Lando. The web of deception was growing thicker, and he was about to get tangled in it.
