Chapter 13: Embracing the New Normal

As they devoured the cookies and chatted with Rachel, David and Daisy couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over them. Rachel's visit had been a welcome distraction from the exhaustion and chaos that came with new parenthood. As Rachel prepared to leave, she mentioned that she had a special surprise for them. "Open it later, okay?" she said with a smile. David took the package, feeling a sense of curiosity wash over him. He tucked it into his pocket, making a mental note to open it later. Rachel said her goodbyes and headed out the door, leaving David and Daisy to bask in the glow of their new life together. The days that followed were a blur of feeding, changing, and soothing Emily's cries. But despite the challenges, David and Daisy were starting to find their groove. Daisy walked into the room, saw the painting, and gasped in delight. "Rach must have brought it over while we were sleeping," she said, her eyes shining with tears.
