Chapter 2: First Encounter
Part 2
Eddie walked into his second class of the day, still feeling a bit disoriented from the previous day's events. As he scanned the room for an empty seat, his eyes landed on a girl with piercing green eyes and long, curly brown hair. She was sitting at a desk near the window, her eyes fixed on him with a look of disdain. Eddie felt a spark of annoyance, but he quickly looked away, taking a seat at an empty desk. The girl, Patricia Williamson, seemed to be watching him, her eyes narrowing as she took in his messy brown hair and rugged features. As the class began, Eddie tried to focus on the lesson, but he couldn't help sneaking glances at Patricia. She seemed to be radiating an air of confidence and poise, her sharp jawline and piercing eyes making her look like a queen. But despite her regal demeanor, Eddie noticed that she seemed to be watching him with a mixture of curiosity and hostility. He felt a shiver run down his spine as their eyes met, a spark of tension that seemed to crackle through the air. The teacher, a bespectacled man with a kind smile, began to drone on about the history of the school, but Eddie's attention was fixed on Patricia. He couldn't help but wonder what her problem was, why she seemed to dislike him so much. As the class drew to a close, Patricia stood up, her eyes flashing with annoyance. "I don't see why we have to learn this," she muttered to the person sitting next to her. "It's all just a bunch of useless facts." The person next to her, a tall, lanky boy with a messy mop of hair, looked up at her with a sheepish grin. "Come on, Patricia, it's not that bad," he said, trying to placate her. But Patricia just rolled her eyes, her gaze flicking back to Eddie. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with tension. Eddie felt a surge of irritation, but he quickly looked away, trying to focus on the lesson. But he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, a feeling that he had somehow offended Patricia. As the class ended, Eddie gathered his things and followed the crowd out of the room. He couldn't help but wonder what he had done to upset Patricia, and why she seemed to dislike him so much. As he walked down the corridor, he heard a voice behind him. "Hey, Miller," Patricia said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you're still trying to make friends." Eddie turned to face her, his eyes narrowing. "What's your problem, Williamson?" he asked, his voice low and even. Patricia smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I don't have a problem," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I just don't like people who think they're above everyone else." Eddie's eyes flashed with anger, but he bit back his retort. Instead, he just shrugged and walked away, leaving Patricia to stew in her own bitter resentment. But little did he know, their encounter was only the beginning of a much larger journey, one that would change him forever.
