"CHAINS OF CONSTRAINT"

Part 4

Link's eyes widened in horror as he took in the scene before him. Lucas, tied to Bigfoot with ropes and restraints, looked like a prisoner, and Bigfoot himself was covered in electrodes and devices that seemed to be causing him a great deal of discomfort. Link's gaze locked onto Victor and Dr. Thompson, and his face darkened with anger. "What kind of sick experiment is this?" Link demanded, his voice low and menacing. "You're using some kind of...of... creature, and a human, for some twisted science project?" Victor and Dr. Thompson exchanged a nervous glance, but before they could respond, Link took a step forward, his fists clenched. "You're not taking anyone else down with you, not while I'm here." But it was too late. Victor and Dr. Thompson had already snapped into action, grabbing Link and holding him in place. "I'm afraid you're going to have to join us, Mr. Neal," Victor said, a cold smile spreading across his face. The villains quickly got to work, securing Link in six different ways. First, they wrapped a thick steel chain around his waist, padlocking it in place with a large, heavy-duty lock. The chain was anchored to the floor, ensuring that Link couldn't move more than a few inches. Next, they attached a series of wrist and ankle cuffs, made of a heavy, industrial-grade metal, to Link's limbs. These cuffs were connected to a complex system of pulleys and levers, designed to restrict Link's movement even further. A thick, rubberized strap was then wrapped around Link's chest, holding him firmly in place. This strap was emblazoned with warning labels and had a series of metal studs along its length, making it clear that it was designed to be highly restrictive. In addition, a pair of metal rods were inserted into Link's shoulders, just below his collarbones, and attached to a metal yoke that rested on his shoulders. These rods were designed to prevent Link from moving his arms or shoulders, effectively immobilizing him. A flexible, plastic tube was then inserted into Link's nostrils, and a small, inflatable cuff was placed around his throat. This tube was connected to a machine that monitored Link's vital signs, and the cuff was designed to constrict if Link tried to struggle or escape. Finally, a small, electronic device was attached to Link's forehead, emitting a low-level hum that seemed to be disorienting him. This device was connected to a small, handheld controller that Victor and Dr. Thompson could use to adjust its settings. Rhett, who had been watching in horror as Link was restrained, finally found his voice. "You're not going to get away with this," he growled, taking a step forward. "You're going to regret the day you ever crossed us." Victor and Dr. Thompson turned to face Rhett, their smiles faltering. "I'm afraid you're not in a position to make threats, Mr. McLaughlin," Victor said, his voice cold and menacing. But Rhett wasn't having it. He took another step forward, his eyes blazing with anger. "You're going to let Link go, and you're going to let Bigfoot go, or I'll make sure the whole world knows what you're doing here." The air was electric with tension as Rhett and the villains faced off, the outcome hanging precariously in the balance.
