Midnight Visit
Part 3
Nene woke up, gasping. It was such an odd dream to have, especially about Kou. But she's always had weird dreams. She sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes, trying to shake off the vivid images that lingered in her mind. In the dream, Kou was in danger, and she was trying to reach him, but her legs felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot. She couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that lingered long after she woke up. To get her mind off it, she decided to take a walk to the Yugi twins' house. It was the middle of the night, and the summer air was thick with humidity, but she didn't care. She needed to clear her head, and she knew that Kou and Teru would be awake, watching TV or something. She got out of bed, slipped on her slippers, and headed out into the night. As she walked to their house, the streets were empty and quiet, the only sound being the crickets chirping in the trees. She knocked on the door, and she could hear the TV on in the living room, meaning at least one of them was awake, or both. The lights were on, and she could see Kou's shadow moving on the window. The door opened, and Kou stood there, looking a bit disheveled. "Nene, what's wrong?" he asked, his eyes narrowing. "It's really late." Nene hesitated, unsure of how to explain her sudden visit. "I had a weird dream," she said finally. "And I couldn't sleep. I saw you in danger, and I...I don't know, I just had to come here." Kou's expression changed, and he stepped aside, letting her in. "Come in," he said. "Teru's here too. We were just...discussing something." As she entered the living room, she saw Teru sitting on the couch, his eyes fixed on her. There was a tension in the air, and she could sense that something was off. "Hey, Nene," Teru said, his voice a bit strained. "What brings you here so late?" Nene took a seat on the couch, trying to read the atmosphere. "Just a bad dream," she said again. "I saw Kou in trouble, and I had to come here." Kou sat down beside her, his eyes locked on hers. "We're fine, Nene," he said. "Don't worry about it." But Nene could tell that they were not fine. There was something going on, something that they weren't telling her. And she was determined to find out what it was.
