"When a Nighttime Visitor Brings a Lesson in Bravery"

Part 4

The darkness of night had descended upon the rodeo school, and an eerie silence enveloped the grounds. Carlos, Jonathan, and William had retired to their quarters for the evening, leaving Marty to keep watch. As Marty walked his rounds, he stumbled upon an unexpected visitor - a rabid coyote, its eyes glowing with a fierce intensity. The coyote, foaming at the mouth, lunged at Marty, who quickly retreated to safety. He alerted Carlos and Jonathan, who rushed to his side, armed with whatever they could find. William, awakened by the commotion, followed close behind, his eyes wide with fear. The coyote, now aware of its new targets, began to circle, searching for an opening to strike. But just as it seemed about to pounce, a loud bellow echoed through the night air. Harry, the bull, had emerged from his enclosure, his eyes fixed intently on the coyote. The coyote, sensing danger, turned to face Harry, but it was too late. The bull charged forward, his massive horns leading the way. The coyote yelped in pain as Harry's horns struck it, sending it tumbling to the ground. But Harry wasn't finished yet. He approached the coyote, now cowering in fear, and delivered a powerful kick to its side. The coyote let out a pained yelp and scurried away, vanishing into the darkness. As the group watched in awe, Harry turned to them, his expression almost smug. William, still shaken, reached out to touch the bull's side, and to everyone's surprise, Harry nuzzled his hand gently. "Harry save us," William exclaimed, his eyes shining with admiration. Carlos and Jonathan exchanged a knowing glance. Maybe, just maybe, William was beginning to understand the true nature of Harry's character. The bull wasn't a monster, but a protector, and William was starting to see that. As they led Harry back to his enclosure, Marty turned to the others and said, "I think we learned something important tonight. Harry may seem fierce, but he's got a heart of gold." Jonathan nodded in agreement. "And maybe, just maybe, we can use that to our advantage. William, do you think you can trust Harry now?" William looked up at Harry, who was watching him with a calm, gentle expression. "Yeah," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Harry my friend." The group smiled, and for the first time, they felt a sense of hope. Maybe their plan to keep William safe wouldn't be as difficult as they thought, not with Harry on their side.
