**Chapter 2: The Search**

Part 2

Athena's eyes narrowed as she listened to the dispatcher's words, her mind racing with the possibilities. She was sitting at her desk, sipping her coffee, when the call came in. The bridge collapse on the highway was a serious situation, and she knew that it could be a long and difficult night. As she stood up, her eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar surroundings of the LAPD station. She had been a police officer for years, and she knew how to handle herself in tough situations. But this was different. This was personal. She quickly made her way to the scene, her heart pounding in her chest. As she arrived, she was met with a scene of devastation. The bridge was partially collapsed, and cars were strewn about everywhere. People were running around, screaming and crying. Athena's trained eyes scanned the scene, taking in the extent of the damage. She knew that she had to find Bobby, and fast. She spotted Maddie, Buck, and Evan, her team's paramedics, rushing around, trying to help those in need. Athena's eyes locked onto Maddie, and she quickly made her way over to her. "Maddie, where's Daddy?" Athena asked, her voice firm but worried. Maddie's eyes were wide with concern. "Athena, we have a situation here. We got a call about a bridge collapse, and...and...Daddy was here, but I don't know where he is now." Athena's heart sank. She knew that Bobby was supposed to be working a different shift, but she had a feeling that he was here, somewhere. She took a deep breath and tried to stay focused. "Okay, let's search the area," Athena said, her voice firm. "I need to find him." Buck and Evan nodded, and together, the four of them started searching the area. They combed through the wreckage, calling out Bobby's name, but there was no response. Athena's anxiety was growing by the minute. She knew that every second counted. As they searched, Athena couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. She kept thinking about all the what-ifs, all the terrible scenarios that could be playing out. She pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the scene. The air was filled with the sound of sirens and the smell of smoke. Athena's eyes scanned the area, taking in the chaos. "Let's move, people!" Athena yelled, her voice carrying above the din. "We need to find him!" The team nodded and continued their search. They were running out of time, and Athena knew that she had to stay focused if she was going to find Bobby. As they searched, Athena's thoughts turned to her husband. She remembered the way he smiled, the way he made her laugh. She knew that she had to find him, no matter what. The team's search became more urgent, their movements faster and more desperate. They were running out of time, and Athena knew that she had to find Bobby before it was too late. Athena's eyes scanned the wreckage, her heart pounding in her chest. She was getting closer, she could feel it. And then, she saw it - a large slab of concrete, partially collapsed. Athena's heart skipped a beat. Could it be? She took a deep breath and steeled herself for what she might find. She knew that she had to be strong, for Bobby's sake. With a newfound sense of determination, Athena approached the slab, her eyes fixed on the wreckage. She knew that she was getting close, and she was ready for whatever she might find.
