Chapter 60: A Desperate Plea
Part 60
"Please, I beg of you," I said, my voice cracking with desperation as I gazed up at Toga, Dabi, and Tomura. "Don't stab or cut me or take my blood, okay? I'll do anything, just don't hurt me like that." Toga's smile faltered for a moment, and she looked at me with a curious expression. "Whatever do you mean, dear?" she asked, her voice dripping with amusement. "We're not going to hurt you...at least, not yet." I swallowed hard, my heart racing with fear. "Please," I repeated, trying to keep my voice steady. "You can do whatever you want to me, just don't make me suffer like that. I'll cooperate, I'll do anything you ask, just please don't hurt me." Dabi raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "And what makes you think we're going to hurt you in such a way?" he asked, his voice low and smooth. I took a deep breath, trying to think of something, anything, that would appeal to whatever humanity was left in them. "Because of what you've done to others," I said, my voice shaking. "I've heard the stories, I know what you're capable of. Please, I'm begging you, don't make me go through that." Tomura chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "You're quite the worrier, aren't you?" he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. "But don't worry, we're not going to hurt you...at least, not yet. We have other plans for you." I felt a surge of relief, but it was short-lived. "What plans?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Toga's smile returned, and she leaned in close to me. "You'll see," she whispered, her breath cold against my ear. "You'll see soon enough." I shuddered, feeling a chill run down my spine. I had a feeling that I was in for a lot more than I could handle. As I looked at them, I noticed that Dabi seemed slightly different, his expression almost... sympathetic. It was a fleeting moment, but it gave me a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I could appeal to him, find a way to escape or at least mitigate my situation. I focused on Dabi, trying to think of something that would reach him. "Dabi, please," I said, my voice shaking. "You have to help me. You have to stop this." Dabi's expression changed, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of something in his eyes. But it was quickly extinguished, and he looked away. I was left with nothing but uncertainty and fear.
