"An Unexpected Detour"

Part 11

As I stood frozen in my bedroom, Adrian's mischievous grin spreading across his face, I knew I had to think fast. I couldn't let him continue to make me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable in my own home. I took a deep breath and tried to sound calm, "Adrian, I appreciate your concern, but I really need some space right now. Why don't you go hang out with Carter? I'm sure he's looking for you." Adrian's eyes narrowed slightly, and for a moment, I thought he was going to argue with me. But then, his expression changed, and he looked almost... distracted. "Carter," he muttered, his voice low and gravelly. "Yeah, I should probably go find him." He turned to leave, but not before his eyes locked onto mine, and I could swear I saw a flicker of something there, something that made my heart skip a beat. As Adrian stumbled out of my bedroom, I let out a sigh of relief. I quickly followed him out of the room, making sure he was really leaving. I heard the sound of him stumbling down the hallway, and I assumed he was heading out to find Carter. I closed the door behind him, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I leaned against the door, trying to process what had just happened. Why had Adrian shown up in my bedroom, and what did he want from me? As I stood there, trying to catch my breath, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Adrian's visit was more than just a coincidence. There was something about him that seemed... off, something that made me feel like he was hiding something from me. I pushed those thoughts aside, telling myself that I was just being paranoid. Adrian was probably just drunk and had stumbled into my bedroom by mistake. Yeah, that was it. I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm myself down, and then I made my way back into my bedroom. I closed the door behind me, feeling a sense of safety and security wash over me. As I looked around my room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. What was Adrian doing with Carter right now? And what would happen when he sobered up and realized what he had done? I shook my head, trying to clear it. I didn't have the answers to those questions, and I didn't need to worry about them right now. All I needed to do was focus on getting some rest and trying to forget about the strange encounter with Adrian. But as I lay down on my bed, I couldn't shake off the feeling that this was far from over.
