Fear in the Face of Chaos
Part 32
As nighttime fell, I walked to my room, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. The events of the day lingered in my mind, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I tried to push the thoughts aside and focus on getting some rest. The next week flew by in a blur of classes and training sessions. Everything seemed normal, until Aizawa's voice cut through the chatter of the students. "We will have another test tomorrow at the USJ," he announced, his expression as stoic as ever. That's when it hit me - the League of Villains. I remembered hearing rumors that they were planning to show up at the USJ. My heart started racing as I wondered what would happen tomorrow. The day wore on, and before I knew it, it was lunchtime. I sat down with Ida, Ochaco, and Deku, and we started to eat. The atmosphere was lively, with students chatting and laughing. But then, an alarm blared through the speakers, and the room fell silent. "Security breach!" someone shouted. Panic set in as students scrambled to get out of the way. I got separated from my friends in the chaos, and before I knew it, I was being pushed and shoved. I stumbled, and a couple of students collided with me, sending me stumbling backward. I almost fell to the floor, but managed to catch myself just in time. Just as I was trying to catch my breath, I heard Ida's voice yelling above the din. "It's not a real threat! The news reporters are the ones who did it!" The room slowly emptied as students realized it was a false alarm. I walked to the side, trying to process what had just happened. That's when I saw him - Shigaraki, the leader of the League of Villains. My heart skipped a beat as I felt a chill run down my spine. For a moment, we just stared at each other. Then, Shigaraki's eyes narrowed, and he realized that I knew who he was. He charged at me, and I froze in fear. He grabbed my neck, his fingers closing around it like a vice. I felt a surge of adrenaline as I realized that he had four fingers on my neck, and I remembered the rumors about his Quirk - Decay. I trembled with fear as Shigaraki's eyes seemed to bore into my soul. "If you tell anyone in here something's going to happen to your precious family," he whispered, his breath cold against my ear. He let go, and I stumbled backward, gasping for air. Shigaraki turned and ran, disappearing into the crowd. I was paralyzed with fear, unable to move or speak. Aizawa's voice cut through the fog, "Vesper, you're late." I turned to see him standing behind me, his eyes scanning my face. That's when he noticed the mark on my neck, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of concern. But he said nothing, his expression returning to its usual stoicism. "I'm sorry, Sensei," I stammered. "I got lost." Aizawa nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "Let's go to class." I nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. I walked with Aizawa to the classroom, my heart still racing with fear. What had just happened? And what would Shigaraki do next?
