**Chapter 1: The Breaking Point**
Part 1
Ray sat on the edge of Kai's bed, his eyes fixed on the floor as he fidgeted with his hands. He had snuck into Kai's room, desperate for a safe space to vent about the mistreatment he had been suffering at the hands of his classmates and even one of the professors. Kai, sensing that something was wrong, gently placed a hand on Ray's shoulder. "Hey, what's going on? You can tell me," Kai said softly, his voice a soothing balm to Ray's frazzled nerves. Ray took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He had been bottling up his emotions for so long, and it was starting to take a toll on him. "I-I don't know, Kai. It's just been really tough lately," Ray stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. Kai's expression turned concerned, and he pulled Ray into a gentle hug. "You know you can always talk to me, right? I'm here for you," Kai whispered into Ray's ear. Ray nodded, feeling a lump form in his throat. He had never felt so vulnerable in his life. "I-I'm just so tired of it, Kai. The bullying, the harassment... I don't know how much more I can take," Ray said, his voice cracking. Kai's grip on him tightened, and he pulled back to look at Ray's face. "What happened? Who's been doing this to you?" Kai asked, his voice low and even, but with a hint of menace. Ray hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. But something about Kai's expression made him trust that he would do everything in his power to protect him. "It's Tylil and... and Deshae. They've been bullying me in and out of class. And Professor DDG... he just lets it happen," Ray said, his voice shaking. Kai's face darkened, and his eyes narrowed. "What do you mean he lets it happen?" he asked, his voice dripping with anger. Ray took a deep breath before continuing. "He... he threatened to slap me when I stood up for myself. I didn't know what to do," Ray said, his eyes welling up with tears. Kai's expression turned furious, but he bit back a retort, letting Ray continue. "And... and it's not just them. My roommate, Tota... he's been trying to touch me when we're sleeping. I've pushed him away and told him no, but he just won't stop," Ray said, his voice barely above a whisper. Kai's face turned beet red with rage, and he clenched his fists. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. How could people be so cruel to someone as kind and gentle as Ray? And how could Tota, someone who was supposed to be Ray's friend and roommate, treat him like that? "What are you going to do, Kai?" Ray asked, his voice trembling. Kai's eyes locked onto Ray's, and he pulled him into a tight hug. "I'll take care of it, Ray. I promise you that. You're safe now. You're safe with me," Kai whispered, his voice full of determination. As Kai held Ray close, he knew that he would do everything in his power to protect him, no matter the cost. But little did he know, this was just the beginning of a much larger storm...
