The Gathering of Allies

Part 42

As Oslo continued to mingle with my friends, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. I had promised him that I would introduce him to the others, and now that the time had finally come, I wasn't sure what to expect. I took a deep breath and pulled out my phone, sending a group text to the entire class, inviting them to meet up at the usual hangout spot. The responses started pouring in, and before I knew it, the whole class was gathering at the park. I spotted Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki already there, chatting and laughing with each other. I made my way over to them, Oslo by my side. "Guys, this is Oslo," I said, trying to sound casual. "We've met before, but I don't think any of you have met him yet." Deku, ever the optimist, smiled warmly and extended a hand. "Nice to meet you, Oslo! I'm Deku." Oslo shook his hand, his eyes sparkling with interest. "Likewise, Deku. I've heard a lot about you." Bakugo, never one to be subtle, grunted a greeting, while Todoroki nodded curtly. I could tell they were all sizing Oslo up, trying to figure him out. As we walked over to where the others were gathering, I introduced Oslo to Mina, Ochaco, Tsu, Momo, Hagakure, Jiro, Sero, Koda, Sato, Shoji, Ayoma, and the others. The reactions were mixed, ranging from curiosity to suspicion. Mina, ever the social butterfly, immediately took a liking to Oslo, chatting him up about his interests and hobbies. Ochaco, on the other hand, seemed a bit wary, her eyes narrowing as she studied Oslo. Todoroki, I noticed, was keeping a close eye on Oslo, his expression unreadable. I wondered if he sensed something about Oslo that I didn't. As we all hung out, I could feel the tension building. Some of my classmates seemed to be warming up to Oslo, while others were still on guard. I decided to take a chance and introduce Oslo to a few of the others who I thought might get along with him. I walked over to where Kirishima, Kaminari, and Ida were sitting, and gestured for Oslo to follow me. "Guys, this is Oslo," I said, trying to sound casual. "I want you to meet some of the others." Kirishima grinned, his eyes lighting up with interest. "Hey, Oslo! I'm Kirishima. Nice to meet you!" Kaminari nodded, a bit more reserved, while Ida smiled warmly. As we chatted, I noticed Shinso hovering on the periphery, his eyes fixed intently on Oslo. I made a mental note to talk to him later, to see if he sensed anything unusual about Oslo. Mineta, ever the enthusiast, bounced over to us, his eyes shining with excitement. "Oslo! I'm Mineta! I've heard so much about you!" Oslo smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Likewise, Mineta. It's great to meet you." As the afternoon wore on, I realized that I had been worried for nothing. Oslo seemed to be getting along with everyone, and the atmosphere was surprisingly relaxed. But as the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the park, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Oslo was still hiding something. That there was more to him, and to our encounter, than met the eye.
