"Shadows of Uncertainty"
Part 3
As we walked through the camp, the sense of unease grew thicker, like a fog that clung to our skin. I could feel it in the way the soldiers exchanged nervous glances, their conversations hushed and urgent. Hange's eyes scanned the surroundings, his jaw set in a determined line. I knew that look; it was the same one he wore when he was preparing for battle. We approached the central square, and I saw a group of high-ranking officers gathered near the commander's tent. They were speaking in hushed tones, their faces grave. Hange's eyes locked onto them, and he quickened his pace. "What's going on?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. Hange didn't answer, but instead led me towards the group. As we approached, the officers fell silent, their eyes flicking to us. I recognized some of them - Commander Erwin, Lieutenant Colonel Levi, and Commander Hange's second-in-command, Captain Floch. "Commander," Hange said, his voice crisp. "What's happening?" Commander Erwin's eyes locked onto Hange's, his expression somber. "We've received a message from the Scout Regiment," he said, his voice low. "The Titans have changed their behavior. They're moving in larger numbers, and they're heading straight for Wall Rose." My heart skipped a beat. Wall Rose was the outermost wall that protected humanity's last stronghold. If the Titans breached it, the consequences would be catastrophic. "What does this mean?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "It means we have to prepare for battle," Lieutenant Colonel Levi said, his voice cold. "And it means we have to do it now." The officers began to discuss strategy and deployment, their voices overlapping as they spoke. Hange listened intently, his eyes narrowing as he processed the information. I watched him, my heart racing with anticipation. As the meeting broke up, Commander Erwin turned to Hange. "Section Commander, I need you to prepare your men for deployment. We'll be moving out at dawn." Hange nodded, his jaw set. "Yes, sir." As we walked away from the commander's tent, I turned to Hange. "What's happening?" I asked, my voice urgent. Hange's eyes locked onto mine, his expression grim. "We're going to war," he said, his voice low. "And this time, it's going to be different. This time, it's going to be real." I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized the gravity of the situation. The Titans were coming, and we were going to face them head-on. I knew that Hange would do everything in his power to protect me, but I also knew that I had to be strong, for him, for myself, and for humanity's survival.
