The Bite of Destiny

Part 1

The sun was setting over the sprawling campus of U.A. High School, casting a warm orange glow over the students as they made their way to their evening training exercises. Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, and Katsuki Bakugo, or Kacchan as he was affectionately known, were no exception. The two friends and classmates had been inseparable since their early days at U.A., and their banter and camaraderie were a familiar sight to their fellow students. As they arrived at the training grounds, their instructor, Present Mic, greeted them with a booming voice. "Alright, students! Today's exercise is going to be a simulation of a real-life hero mission. You'll be working in teams to take down a series of robotic targets. Let's see what you're made of!" Deku and Kacchan exchanged a look, and without a word, they knew they were going to team up together. As they joined their fellow students, Deku couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. This was what they had been training for – to become the next generation of heroes. The exercise began, and Deku and Kacchan sprang into action, their movements fluid and synchronized as they worked together to take down the robotic targets. Kacchan's Explosion Quirk proved to be a game-changer, allowing him to blast through even the toughest opponents. But as they were in the midst of the exercise, a strange, unearthly creature emerged from the shadows. It was unlike anything Deku had ever seen before – its eyes glowed with an otherworldly light, and its skin seemed to shift and writhe like a living thing. Before anyone could react, the creature lunged at Kacchan, its jaws wide open. Deku tried to shout a warning, but it was too late. The creature's teeth sank deep into Kacchan's arm, and a look of shock and pain crossed his face. The creature released Kacchan and retreated into the darkness, leaving behind a stunned and confused group of students. Deku rushed to Kacchan's side, concern etched on his face. "Kacchan, are you okay? What just happened?" Kacchan's eyes were glassy, and his face was pale. "I...I don't know, Deku," he stammered, his voice shaking. "I feel...different." As Deku looked at Kacchan's arm, he noticed that the wound was already beginning to heal at an alarming rate. The skin was closing over, and the bleeding had stopped. Deku's eyes widened in horror as he realized that something was very wrong. "Kacchan, we need to get you to a doctor," Deku said, trying to keep his voice calm. But Kacchan just shook his head, his eyes taking on a strange, almost feral glint. "No, Deku," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "I think I'm going to be just fine." As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the campus in darkness, Deku couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong. He had a sense that Kacchan's life was about to change forever, and that their friendship was about to be put to the test in ways they never could have imagined.
