A Chance Reunion

Emily's fingers flew across her keyboard as she typed out her next message to Megan. "Haha, I was thinking of heading out around 11 am. I need to pick up a few things for the week," she wrote. She hit send and waited for Megan's response, her eyes scanning the small café she was sitting in. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and the sound of gentle chatter created a warm atmosphere. The response came almost immediately. "Well listen girl what time are you doing your shopping thing?" Megan's message popped up on Emily's screen, and she couldn't help but chuckle at her friend's informal tone. Emily's response was quick. "I was thinking of heading out around 11 am. I need to pick up a few things for the week," she wrote again, realizing she had already shared that with Megan. Megan responded, "That works perfect! I was thinking of meeting you at 12:30, so we can grab lunch and catch up. Do you want to meet at the café or somewhere else?" Emily thought for a moment before responding, "How about we meet at that new bistro that just opened up downtown? I've been wanting to try it out." Megan agreed, "Sounds like a plan! I'll meet you there at 12:30. Oh, and I'm glad we got that reservation for 1 pm, just in case we want to sit and chat for a bit." With their plans set, Emily closed her laptop and took a sip of her coffee, feeling excited for their upcoming reunion. She glanced at the clock and realized she still had a bit of time before she needed to head out for her grocery shopping.
