Sisterly Bonds

Part 11

Maya walked down the hallway of Springdale High, her eyes scanning the crowded corridors for a glimpse of Mariana, Jesus's twin sister. She had promised Jesus that she would meet up with Mariana during lunch, and she was excited to get to know her better. As she turned a corner, she spotted Mariana sitting at a table in the courtyard, surrounded by a group of friends. Maya made her way over, waving hello as she approached. Mariana looked up, a bright smile spreading across her face as she caught sight of Maya. "Hey, girl!" she exclaimed, jumping up from her seat to give Maya a warm hug. Maya laughed, feeling a sense of ease wash over her as she hugged Mariana back. "Hey, it's so great to see you!" she said, taking a seat next to Mariana at the table. The group of friends chatted and laughed, enjoying their lunch and each other's company. Maya was drawn into the conversation, feeling like she was already a part of the group. Mariana was easy to talk to, and Maya found herself opening up about her art and her passions. As they talked, Maya couldn't help but notice the similarities between Mariana and Jesus. They had the same sparkling eyes and bright smiles, and they shared a quick wit and sense of humor. But there were also differences, and Maya was fascinated by the unique personality that Mariana brought to the table. Mariana, it turned out, was a bit of a firecracker, with a sharp tongue and a quick temper. But she was also fiercely loyal and protective of those she cared about, and Maya could see why Jesus admired her so much. As they finished up their lunch, Mariana turned to Maya with a mischievous glint in her eye. "So, I have to ask," she said, leaning in close. "What's going on with you and my brother?" Maya blushed, feeling a flush rise to her cheeks. "What do you mean?" she asked, trying to play it cool. Mariana laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Don't play dumb, Maya," she said, teasingly. "I know you two are together. And I have to say, I'm a little surprised." Maya raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Surprised?" she repeated. Mariana nodded, her expression serious. "Yeah, I mean, Jesus doesn't usually date," she said. "He's always been a bit of a loner, but there's something about you that's different. He seems really happy, and that's all that matters to me." Maya smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Mariana. "Thanks," she said, sincerely. "That means a lot coming from you." Mariana smiled back, her eyes warm with approval. "I'm just glad to see my brother happy," she said. "And I think you two are perfect for each other." As they parted ways, Maya felt like she had gained a new friend, and a deeper understanding of Jesus and his family. She couldn't wait to see what the future held for her and Jesus, and she was grateful to have Mariana in her corner, cheering her on.
