Chapter 41: Morning After
Part 41
Maya couldn't help but feel grateful for the love they shared, and the way Sean made her feel like she was home. As they lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, she couldn't help but think about how much her life had changed in the past few months. She was pregnant, and her body was going through all sorts of changes, but with Sean by her side, she felt like she could handle anything. As they caught their breath and settled into the morning, Maya realized that she had a lot to do today. She had a prenatal appointment scheduled for later that day, and she was determined to get some things done around the house before it. She gently extricated herself from Sean's arms, and padded out of bed, making her way to the bathroom to start getting ready for the day. Sean watched her go, a smile on his face as he took in the sight of her bare backside. He loved the way she moved, all curvy and feminine, and he couldn't help but feel a pang of desire as he watched her walk away. He threw off the covers and followed her, his eyes fixed on the gentle sway of her hips as she walked. In the bathroom, Maya took a long, hot shower, letting the water wash away the lingering fogginess of sleep. As she stood under the water, she felt a sense of calm wash over her. It was moments like these that she cherished, just the simple act of getting ready for the day, with Sean's love and support surrounding her. After getting dressed, Maya made her way to the kitchen to start breakfast. Sean was hot on her heels, his arms wrapping around her waist as he pulled her close. "Hey," he whispered, his breath tickling her ear. "What's on the agenda for today?" Maya smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. "Just a prenatal appointment, and then some errands," she replied, turning to face him. Sean nodded, his eyes scanning her face. "Do you need me to come with you?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Maya shook her head, smiling. "No, I think I'll be okay. But thanks for offering." Sean nodded, his face serious for a moment before he broke into a smile. "I'll take you out for lunch, then. We can celebrate another week of pregnancy." Maya rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "You're going to spoil me, aren't you?" she asked, her voice teasing. Sean grinned. "I'm going to try my best," he replied, his eyes crinkling at the corners. As they sat down to eat, Maya couldn't help but feel grateful for the life they were building together. She was excited to see what the future held, and she knew that with Sean by her side, she could handle anything. Over breakfast, Sean filled her in on his plans for the day. He had a meeting with a potential new client, and he was hoping to land a big contract. Maya listened int and listened, offering words of encouragement and support. As they finished up and began to clear the table, Maya's phone rang. She smiled apologetically at Sean and picked it up, her heart sinking as she saw her sister's name on the screen. "Hey, Em," she said, trying to sound cheerful. "Hey, sis," Emily replied, her voice bright and cheerful. "I was just wondering if you wanted to meet up for coffee today. I have some news to share." Maya exchanged a glance with Sean, who was watching her with interest. "Actually, I was thinking of heading out to run some errands," she replied, trying to sound nonchalant. Sean raised an eyebrow, and Maya could tell he was intrigued. She mouthed "my sister" to him, and he nodded, understanding. "Okay, that sounds great," Maya said, trying to sound enthusiastic. "I'll meet you at 10?" Emily agreed, and they made plans to meet up at a coffee shop on the other side of town. Maya hung up the phone, and turned to Sean with a smile. "My sister wants to meet up for coffee," she explained. "I'm going to go see her in a bit." Sean nodded, his eyes understanding. "I'll come with you, if you'd like," he offered. Maya shook her head. "No, it's okay. I can handle it on my own. But thanks for offering." Sean nodded, and Maya could tell he was trying not to laugh. "You're welcome," he said, his voice low and husky. "I just want to make sure you're taken care of." Maya smiled, feeling a surge of love for this man who was always looking out for her. "I appreciate that," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As they finished up and headed out the door, Maya felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. What did her sister want to talk about? And how would Maya's day go from here? She pushed the thoughts aside, and focused on the moment, knowing that with Sean by her side, she could handle anything.
