Jealousy Unleashed

Part 70

I sighed, trying to think of a way to diffuse the situation. "Guys, come on, let's not make a big deal out of this. I mean, it's not like it means anything," I said, trying to calm them down. Mina left out the fact that she was coming along to the dinner, but I didn't think it was necessary to share that detail now. But my words seemed to have the opposite effect. Bakugo's face darkened, and he took a step closer to me. His eyes scanned my face, as if searching for any sign of deception. "Save it, Ves," he growled, his voice low and menacing. That's when Bakugo's gaze shifted to Shinso, and his expression changed from anger to confusion. "Who the fuck are you?" he asked, his voice cold and aggressive. Shinso, who had been quietly observing the scene, stood up straight and replied, "My name is Shinso." The room fell silent once again, and this time, it was because of Shinso's introduction. Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki, Kaminari, and Kirishima all turned to look at both me and Shinso, their faces a mixture of confusion and curiosity. Mina, still grinning, seemed to be enjoying the drama she had unleashed. She leaned back in her chair, looking like she was settling in for a show. I could feel the tension in the room building, and I knew I had to intervene before things escalated further. "Guys, let's just calm down and talk about this," I said, trying to sound calm. But Bakugo's eyes were still fixed on Shinso, his expression unreadable. "So, Shinso, huh?" he said, his voice dripping with hostility. "I've never heard of you." Shinso stood his ground, his eyes locked on Bakugo. "I'm a student at U.A. High School," he replied, his voice steady. "I've been getting to know Ves through our writing club." The room seemed to be holding its breath, waiting for Bakugo's next move. I could feel Deku's eyes on me, and I knew he was trying to understand what was going on. Kirishima, always the loudmouth, broke the silence. "Wait, what's going on here?" he asked, his voice laced with confusion. "Is there something going on between Ves and Shinso that we don't know about?" I shook my head, trying to clear up any misunderstandings. "No, nothing like that. Shinso and I just met through the writing club, that's all." But Bakugo's expression didn't change. He still looked like he was sizing Shinso up, trying to determine if he was a threat. And Shinso, for his part, seemed to be enjoying the attention, a small smile playing on his lips. The tension in the room was palpable, and I knew that things were about to get a lot more complicated.
