Chapter 1: Morning Confusion
Part 1
The warm sunlight peeked through the blinds of Nic's bedroom window, gently rousing Max from his sleep. As he stirred, he felt Nic's gentle movements beside him. Max smiled, feeling grateful for the countless sleepovers they had shared over the past three years. Nic, his boyfriend, was more than just a partner – he was his best friend. As Max opened his eyes, he noticed Nic's eyes were already open, staring at the ceiling with a mixture of embarrassment and amusement. Max's gaze followed Nic's, and he quickly realized why. Nic was experiencing morning wood, a common occurrence for many guys their age. Max chuckled and playfully rolled his eyes, used to Nic's occasional morning modesty. "Good morning," Max whispered, trying not to laugh. Nic smiled sheepishly and whispered back, "Morning." As they got out of bed, Max couldn't help but notice how comfortable and natural it felt to be in Nic's bedroom, surrounded by memories of their three-year relationship. Nic had narcolepsy, which sometimes made it difficult for him to stay awake during the day, but it didn't stop him from being an incredible partner. After getting dressed, they headed downstairs to start their day. As they entered the living room, Max's eyes widened in surprise. Matt and Chris, Nic's twin brothers, were sitting on the couch, trying to hide behind a blanket and a pillow, respectively. Max's confusion deepened as he noticed that both Matt and Chris seemed to be...ahem...experiencing the same morning issue as Nic. Matt, who had autism, was fidgeting with his hands, trying to adjust his pants discreetly. Chris, who was aromantic and often expressed his affection in non-traditional ways, was attempting to hide behind a pillow, his face bright red. Max turned to Nic, raising an eyebrow. "Um, what's going on? How did you all...?" Nic shrugged, equally perplexed. "I have no idea. It's like some sort of bizarre twin phenomenon." Matt and Chris exchanged a nervous glance, and Matt stuttered, "I-I don't know, guys. It just happens sometimes." Chris peeked from behind his pillow, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Maybe we're just hormonally synchronized or something." As the group stood there, trying to make sense of the situation, Max couldn't help but wonder if there was more to this coincidence than met the eye. The triplets, Nic, Matt, and Chris, had always been close, but this was something entirely new. The morning had just taken an unexpected turn, and Max was eager to see where it would lead.
