"How far along am I?" Ashley asked, shifting her position for the nurse to put the scan probe internal. Ashley winced, holding Ryan's hand tightly as the nurse adjusted the probe. The doctor smiled and checked the screen. "You're approximately 12 weeks along, Ashley. Everything looks great. The baby's heartbeat is strong, and the measurements are right on track." Ashley let out a sigh of relief as she gazed at the screen, still trying to take in the image of their tiny baby. She could see the tiny arms and legs, the small body, and the flickering heartbeat. Ryan squeezed her hand. "That's amazing," he whispered, his eyes shining with excitement. The doctor began to explain the details of the scan, pointing out different features of the baby's anatomy. Ashley listened intently, trying to absorb every word. "Can we see the sex of the baby?" Ashley asked, her curiosity getting the better of her. The doctor smiled. "We can try, but it's still a bit early. Let me check." The doctor adjusted the probe and checked the screen again. After a moment, she smiled. "It looks like you're having a baby girl!" Ashley and Ryan exchanged a look, both of them beaming with excitement. Ashley felt a surge of joy and happiness, imagining all the possibilities of having a little girl. "Really?" Ashley asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The doctor nodded. "Yes, really! You're going to be parents of a beautiful baby girl." Ashley felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes as she gazed at Ryan. He was smiling at her, his eyes shining with happiness. "We're having a girl," Ashley whispered, her voice full of wonder. Ryan nodded, his smile growing wider. "We're having a girl," he repeated, his voice full of excitement.
