Chapter 2: The Jerky Debacle

Part 2

A few hours had passed since Harry and Lloyd had indulged in the questionable beef jerky, and they were still reeling from the effects. The initial shock had worn off, replaced by a creeping sense of dread as their bodies began to shut down. They had pulled over to the side of the road, hoping to regroup and recover, but it was clear that things were taking a turn for the worse. Harry, who had been sitting up straight, suddenly slumped forward, his face purpling. He gasped, struggling to draw air into his lungs. Lloyd, who was sitting next to him, tried to help, but Harry's body was limp and unresponsive. Lloyd's own condition was deteriorating rapidly, his stomach churning with a violent diarrhea that left him clutching his abdomen in agony. As Lloyd stumbled out of the Shaggin' Wagon, his legs buckled beneath him, and he fell to the ground, writhing in pain. Harry, still slumped forward, was unable to breathe on his own, his body trembling with convulsions. Lloyd tried to crawl back to his friend, but his own body betrayed him, and he collapsed onto the dirt, unable to move. The two friends were in a state of distress, unable to help themselves, as they lay on the side of the road. Their cries for help were muffled and weak, and it seemed unlikely that anyone would hear them. But then, a car happened to drive by, and the driver, a concerned-looking man named Jack, noticed the commotion on the side of the road. He slammed on his brakes, pulling over to see what was wrong. As he approached the Shaggin' Wagon, he was met with a sight that made his blood run cold. Two young men, one slumped forward in the vehicle, the other writhing in agony on the ground, their faces purpling and sweaty. Jack's eyes widened in horror as he took in the scene. "Oh my god," he whispered, quickly pulling out his phone to call for help. "Hello, emergency services? I need to report a medical emergency. There are two men on the side of the road, and they appear to be in serious distress. One is unconscious and not breathing, and the other has...has diarrhea and is unable to walk. I think they might have food poisoning or something. Please, you need to send an ambulance right away." As Jack waited for help to arrive, he stayed with the two men, trying to keep them comfortable and calm. He talked to them, trying to reassure them that help was on the way, but Harry and Lloyd were beyond consolation. They were too busy struggling to survive. The minutes ticked by, and Jack could see the fear and panic in the men's eyes. He did his best to comfort them, but it was clear that they were in grave danger. Just as Jack was starting to worry that they might not make it, he heard the sirens of an ambulance in the distance. "Help is here," Jack said, trying to keep his voice calm. "You're going to be okay, guys. Just hang in there." But as the ambulance pulled up, Jack couldn't shake the feeling that it might already be too late.
