"A Royal Rebellion"

Part 5

Kenzy's voice rose in protest as she turned to face her father, the King. "Dad, I told you multiple times, I don't want to be in an arranged marriage," she said, her words laced with frustration. "I will get married to the man I love, not some person you've chosen for me." The King's expression turned stern, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Kenzy, we've discussed this before," he said, his voice firm but controlled. "As the princess of this kingdom, it's your duty to make a strategic marriage. It's for the good of the kingdom." Kenzy's face reddened with anger as she took a step forward. "My duty is to be happy, not to be a pawn in your game of politics," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. "And I won't do it, Dad. I won't marry some man I don't love just to satisfy your ambitions." Levi watched the exchange with interest, his eyes flicking between Kenzy and the King. He could see the tension between them, the unspoken words that hung in the air. He felt a pang of sympathy for Kenzy, who seemed to be fighting for her freedom. The King sighed, his expression softening slightly. "Kenzy, I understand that you think you're in love with...whoever it is you've chosen," he said, his voice gentle but firm. "But you need to think about what's best for the kingdom. This marriage I'm proposing will strengthen our alliances and secure our future." Kenzy's eyes flashed with anger. "You have no idea what I think or feel, Dad," she said, her voice cold. "And I'm not going to marry Captain Levi or anyone else just to satisfy your ambitions. I'll marry the man I love, and that's final." The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the people present. Erwin, who had been watching the exchange with interest, spoke up. "Your Majesty, perhaps we should discuss this further in private," he said, his voice diplomatic. The King's eyes flicked to Erwin, and then back to Kenzy. "Very well," he said, his voice firm. "We'll discuss this later, Kenzy. But for now, let's focus on the matter at hand." Kenzy's face twisted in frustration, but she said nothing, her eyes fixed on her father's face. Levi, on the other hand, felt a sense of unease. He had a feeling that this was far from over, and that the King's proposal was only the beginning of a much larger conflict.
