Chapter 1: Shadows of the Red Room

Part 1

Betsy Braddock's eyes slowly opened, her mind foggy and her body aching. She was met with the familiar sight of the Red Room, a place she had escaped from years ago, but now found herself back in, courtesy of her sister, Magik. The room was dimly lit, with only a few flickering candles illuminating the space. The air was thick with the scent of incense, and the sound of soft chanting could be heard in the distance. As she tried to sit up, a sharp pain shot through her head, and she fell back onto the cold, stone floor. She remembered the events that had led her here - her sister's increasingly erratic behavior, the arguments they had, and the feeling of being trapped. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Betsy's gaze wandered around the room, taking in the familiar yet disturbing sights. The walls were adorned with ancient symbols, and the floor was covered with a strange, pulsating energy. She knew that the Red Room was a place of dark magic, where time and space were distorted. As she struggled to her feet, she heard footsteps approaching. The door to the room creaked open, and Magik stood in the entrance, a look of concern etched on her face. "Betsy, I'm glad you're awake," Magik said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "I've been waiting for you." Betsy's instincts screamed at her to be cautious, but she tried to push aside her doubts. She had always loved her sister, despite their complicated past. But as Magik approached her, Betsy noticed something in her sister's eyes, something that made her skin crawl. It was a glint of excitement, of anticipation. "Betsy, you need to understand that you're mine now," Magik said, her voice low and husky. "You're going to stay here with me, and we're going to work on...some issues." Betsy's heart sank as she realized that she was trapped. She tried to take a step back, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot. And then, Magik's hand reached out and brushed against her cheek, sending shivers down her spine. Betsy knew that she was in grave danger, and that she had to find a way to escape before it was too late. But as she looked into Magik's eyes, she saw something that made her blood run cold. She saw a desire, a hunger that went far beyond sisterly love. And Betsy knew that she was in for a nightmare from which she might not awaken.
