Rematch of Rivals

Part 232

The air was electric with tension as Bakugo and I faced off once again in the school's courtyard. The group of friends had gathered around, eager to see if I could repeat my surprise victory from earlier. Bakugo, still seething from his loss, cracked his knuckles and sneered at me. "You think you can take me down twice, Vesper? Think again." The match began, and Bakugo charged at me with an even greater ferocity than before. I dodged and weaved, using every trick in the book to evade his attacks. But Bakugo was relentless, pushing me to my limits as we clashed in a flurry of punches and kicks. To my surprise, I found myself holding my own against Bakugo's onslaught once again. I landed a series of swift and precise strikes, and Bakugo stumbled backward, his eyes widening in surprise. For a moment, I thought I had the upper hand, and I launched a powerful kick that seemed to connect perfectly. But Bakugo was not one to give up easily. He used his explosive speed to quickly recover, and then countered with a devastating blow that sent me crashing to the ground. I struggled to get back to my feet, but Bakugo was too quick. He pinned me to the ground, his knee pressed firmly against my chest. The courtyard fell silent, with all eyes fixed on Bakugo's triumphant expression. I grunted in pain, feeling a surge of adrenaline as I realized I had come so close to winning again. "Ow, that hurt," I admitted, wincing in pain. But to everyone's surprise, I followed up with a grin. "But that was good, Bakugo. You're an incredible fighter." Bakugo's expression softened slightly, and he looked at me with a hint of respect. "You're not bad yourself, Vesper," he said, his voice a little less aggressive than before. He slowly got to his feet, pulling me up with him. The group erupted into cheers and applause, impressed by our intense and closely contested match. Deku and Todoroki nodded at each other, while Kirishima and Osby exchanged a grin. Ochaco approached me, concern etched on her face. "Vesper, are you okay? That looked intense." I nodded, brushing myself off. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little bruised." I smiled, feeling a newfound respect for Bakugo as a fighter. "But I'm looking forward to the next match."
