**Crossing Paths**

Part 2

As JJ Watt approached their table, Leilani's friends couldn't help but stare. Rachel, a huge sports fan, was practically drooling, while Alex looked like he was about to faint. Leilani, on the other hand, felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. She had heard of JJ Watt, of course – who hadn't? – but she hadn't expected to run into him here, in the student union. "Hey, mind if I join you?" JJ asked, his deep voice sending a shiver down Leilani's spine. He flashed a charming smile, and her friends eagerly made room for him at the table. As he sat down, Leilani couldn't help but notice the way he commanded attention without seeming to try. He was easygoing and relaxed, chatting with her friends like they were old buddies. But every now and then, his eyes would lock onto hers, and Leilani would feel that spark of electricity again. Rachel, ever the fan, launched into a enthusiastic discussion of JJ's football career, asking him about his favorite games and players. JJ was happy to oblige, sharing stories and anecdotes that had Leilani's friends in stitches. But Leilani found herself zoning out, her mind wandering to the strange sensation of being under JJ's gaze. As they chatted, JJ effortlessly juggled multiple conversations, laughing and joking with Leilani's friends while also asking her thoughtful questions about her music. Leilani was surprised by how easy it was to talk to him, how natural it felt to share her passion for cello with someone who seemed genuinely interested. As the conversation flowed, Leilani discovered that JJ was not just a famous football player, but also a philanthropist and music lover. He had a deep appreciation for classical music, and his favorite composer was Beethoven. Leilani was impressed by his eclectic tastes and enthusiasm. Before she knew it, they had been talking for over an hour. As the student union started to close, JJ glanced at his watch and stood up. "I'm so sorry, but I have to run. I have a meeting with some local students about a charity event." As they said their goodbyes, JJ turned to Leilani and asked, "Would you like to grab coffee with me sometime? Maybe I can hear you play?" Leilani's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected JJ to ask her out, not after such a short time. But there was something about him that drew her in, something that made her want to say yes. "I'd like that," she said finally, trying to sound casual. JJ grinned and handed her his phone. "Let's exchange numbers, then." As Leilani's fingers touched JJ's, she felt that spark of electricity again. She couldn't help but wonder what was about to happen, or what this new connection might bring into her life.
