"Back to Old Habits"
Part 82
As Kageyama lay on his bed, the familiar tunes of his favorite song playing in the background, he couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over him. The music seemed to transport him back to a time when life was simpler, when his only worry was perfecting his volleyball skills. He started to hum along, and before he knew it, he was singing the lyrics at the top of his lungs. At first, it was just a slight tap of his foot on the bed, but as the music picked up, Kageyama found himself getting more and more into it. He started to sway to the beat, his body moving in time with the rhythm. It was a small movement, but it was one that he hadn't done in a while. As he continued to listen to the music, Kageyama started to feel a sense of comfort that he hadn't felt in a long time. He began to tap his hands on his thighs, a habit he had developed during his intense training days with Daichi. The tapping grew louder and more insistent, and before he knew it, he was fully immersed in the music. His eyes closed, and he let the melody take over, his body moving to the beat. He started to mutter to himself, a phrase that had become a sort of mantra for him during those intense training sessions: "I'll get it, I'll get it, I'll get it." The words were barely audible, but they were a clear indication that Kageyama was slipping back into his old habits. As the song came to an end, Kageyama opened his eyes, feeling a little disoriented. He looked around his room, taking in the familiar surroundings, and then his gaze landed on Oikawa's team playlist on his phone. He smiled, remembering the excitement and sense of unity that the music had brought to the team. But as he started to think about the game and the team's progress, Kageyama's mind began to wander. He started to think about his own progress, and how far he had come. He realized that he had been so focused on being a part of the team that he had forgotten about his own goals and aspirations. Kageyama's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. It was Oikawa, who had come to check on him. "Hey, Kageyama, what's up?" he asked, noticing the look of contemplation on Kageyama's face. Kageyama hesitated for a moment before responding. "Just thinking about the game, and the team," he said, trying to brush off his concerns. Oikawa nodded, but Kageyama could tell that he wasn't buying it. "You sure that's all?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly. Kageyama sighed, feeling a little caught out. "Okay, fine," he said. "I was just thinking about my old habits, and how they might be coming back." Oikawa's expression softened, and he walked over to Kageyama's bed. "You know, Kageyama, it's okay to have old habits," he said. "It's okay to be yourself, and to do things that make you happy." Kageyama looked at Oikawa, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. He knew that Oikawa was right, and that he didn't have to change who he was to fit in with the team. He could be himself, and still be a part of the team. With a newfound sense of confidence, Kageyama started to think about how he could balance his old habits with his newfound sense of self. He realized that he didn't have to choose between being a volleyball player and being himself, and that the two could coexist. As he thought about this, Kageyama felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. He knew that he still had a lot to learn, and that he would make mistakes along the way. But with Oikawa by his side, and the team's support, he felt like he could overcome anything. The music started playing again, and Kageyama couldn't help but smile. He knew that he was on the right path, and that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
