Chapter 31: Fluttering Heartbeat

Part 30

As I walked down the corridor of our dorm, I pulled out my phone to check if I had any new messages. My eyes scanned the screen, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw that Shinso had texted me back. I felt a surge of excitement, and my hands began to tremble slightly as I opened the message. "Yea sure I don't mind," he had replied. My face flushed instantly, and I couldn't help but feel flustered. I had expected him to respond, but his simple message had somehow made me feel like I was walking on air. I quickly glanced around, making sure no one was watching me, and let out a deep breath. Why was I reacting like this? It was just a text message, after all. I tried to calm myself down, telling myself that I was overreacting, but my mind kept racing. I thought back to our conversation in the cafeteria, and the way he had smiled at me. I couldn't help but wonder what he had meant by his response. Was he genuinely interested in hanging out with me, or was he just being polite? As I stood there, lost in thought, Ochaco and Osby walked up to me, curious about what I was doing. "Who's that?" Ochaco asked, peering at my phone. I quickly hid my phone, feeling embarrassed. "Just someone from my class," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant. Osby raised an eyebrow. "Someone from your class, huh? You're not still thinking about that guy you met at lunch, are you?" she teased. I blushed, feeling caught. "Shut up, Osby," I said, laughing. Ochaco grinned mischievously. "Come on, tell us more about him," she said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But before I could respond, my phone buzzed again. I glanced at the screen, and my heart skipped another beat. Shinso had sent me another message. "When were you thinking?" he asked. I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. What was I supposed to say? I looked at Ochaco and Osby, who were both watching me with interest. I knew I had to respond, but my mind had gone blank.
