New Beginnings

Part 11

As they walked hand in hand out of the hospital, Charlie felt a sense of excitement and nervousness wash over her. She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she was pregnant, but with Jon by her side, she felt like she could face anything. They had decided to keep the news a secret for now, only sharing it with their immediate family and closest friends. "I have an idea," Jon said, as they walked to his car. "I want to make this official. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Charlie." Charlie's heart skipped a beat as she looked at Jon. She knew exactly what he was talking about. "You're proposing?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Jon nodded, pulling out a small box from his pocket. "I am," he said, getting down on one knee. "Charlie, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were special. You're going to be an amazing mother, and I want to be by your side every step of the way. Will you marry me?" Tears of joy streamed down Charlie's face as she nodded. "Yes, yes, a million times yes," she said, as Jon slid the ring onto her finger. They hugged, holding each other tightly as they celebrated their engagement. As they pulled back, Jon smiled at her. "I was thinking, since you're going to start showing soon, we should have a small wedding before that happens." Charlie nodded, her mind racing with the idea of a small, intimate wedding. "That sounds perfect," she said. "I don't want to be a big, pregnant bride walking down the aisle." Jon chuckled. "I don't think I could handle that either," he said. "But I do want to make this special for you. What do you think about having the wedding at my parents' house? It's always been a special place for us." Charlie thought about it for a moment before nodding. "That sounds beautiful," she said. "And we can keep it small and intimate, just with our closest friends and family." As they drove back to Jon's place, Charlie couldn't stop staring at her ring. She felt like the luckiest person in the world, and she knew that this was just the beginning of their new life together. Over the next few weeks, they made plans for their small wedding, keeping it a secret from everyone but their immediate family and closest friends. Charlie's parents were overjoyed when they found out, and Jon's parents were thrilled to have another opportunity to host a family gathering. As the big day approached, Charlie felt a mix of emotions. She was excited to marry the love of her life, but she was also nervous about what the future held. She knew that being a mother would bring its own set of challenges, but with Jon by her side, she felt ready to face whatever came their way. On the day of the wedding, Charlie woke up feeling like a princess. She put on her beautiful white dress, and Jon couldn't take his eyes off her as she walked down the stairs. "You look stunning," he said, taking her hand. Charlie smiled, feeling her heart swell with love. "You look pretty great yourself," she said, as they exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony at Jon's parents' house. As they sealed their love with a kiss, Charlie knew that this was just the beginning of their new life together. They were starting a new chapter, one that would bring its own set of challenges and joys. But with Jon by her side, she was ready to face whatever came their way.
