Chapter 70: A Newfound Confidence

Part 69

A few days had passed since the heartwarming moment with my parents, and I could sense a change within myself. I felt more open, more confident in my passion for becoming a hero. It wasn't that I had suddenly become articulate or composed, I was still the same Midoriya Izuku who would fumble, stumble, and stammer over my words. But I no longer felt like I was walking on eggshells, worried that someone would blast my eardrums off just for speaking up. As I made my way to the backyard for my daily training, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and determination. My parents had set up a small obstacle course for me, and I was eager to test my physical limits. I was still small and soft, and my frailty was evident in every movement, but I was determined to improve. I began to run through the course, my legs pumping furiously as I tried to navigate the simple hurdles. I stumbled and tripped, but I didn't give up. I got back up, dusted myself off, and tried again. And again. And again. After a while, I took a break, panting heavily as I leaned against a tree. My face was flushed, and my hair was disheveled, but I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had pushed myself to my limits, and I had made it through the course without too much trouble. As I caught my breath, I couldn't help but think about my Quirk, or rather, the lack thereof. I was still quirkless, and I knew that it was a significant obstacle in my dream of becoming a hero. But I refused to let it hold me back. I was determined to find a way, to make it work, no matter what. I looked up at the sky, feeling a sense of resolve wash over me. I would do whatever it took to become a hero, even if it meant working twice as hard as everyone else. I would prove to myself, and to everyone else, that I was capable of achieving my dreams, quirk or not. As I walked back to the house, I felt a sense of confidence that I had never felt before. I was still awkward, still clumsy, but I was no longer held back by my own fears and doubts. I was ready to face whatever challenges came my way, and I was excited to see what the future held. My parents were waiting for me on the porch, smiles on their faces as they watched me approach. "How was your training, Izuku?" my mother asked, her eyes shining with pride. I grinned, feeling a sense of excitement and enthusiasm. "It was great, Mom! I made it through the course without too much trouble!" My father chuckled, ruffling my hair. "That's my boy! You're getting stronger every day." I blushed, feeling a sense of happiness and contentment wash over me. I knew that I still had a long way to go, but for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was on the right path.
