**Boundaries Crossed**
Part 5
I really don’t appreciate you just looking through my stuff like that, Kenzy said, her voice firm but laced with a hint of vulnerability. She tried to take a step back, but her legs felt rooted to the spot. Levi's eyes seemed to be searing into her skin, making her feel like he could see right through her. Levi's gaze never wavered, his eyes locked on hers as he took a step closer. "I didn't mean to intrude, Kenzy," he said, his voice low and husky. "But I had to know what you were writing about. You were gone for hours, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was bothering you." He paused, his eyes scanning her face as if searching for something. "And then I saw your notebook, and...I don't know, I just felt like I had to know what was going on in your head." Kenzy felt her face grow hot with indignation, but also with a hint of curiosity. What was it about her notebook that had drawn Levi in? She tried to shake off the feeling of unease, telling herself she was just mad that he had invaded her space. "Why did you feel like you had to know what I was writing?" she asked, her voice still firm but laced with a hint of curiosity. Levi took another step closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "Because I care about you, Kenzy," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "And I couldn't shake the feeling that something was bothering you." Kenzy's eyes narrowed, her face still burning with embarrassment and annoyance. "You care about me?" she repeated, her voice laced with skepticism. Levi's eyes flashed with intensity, and for a moment, Kenzy thought she saw something there, something that looked almost like... longing. But then, his expression smoothed out, and he looked at her with a bland, unreadable gaze. "Yeah, I do," he said, his voice calm and collected. "I've been trying to figure out what's going on with you, Kenzy. You seem... distant lately. And I have to admit, I was curious about what you were writing." Kenzy felt a surge of defensiveness, but she pushed it aside, trying to focus on her anger instead. She didn't want to let Levi get to her, not now, not when she was still reeling from the shock of his sudden appearance. "So, what did you find out?" she asked, her voice cold. Levi's eyes seemed to bore into her soul, as if searching for something. "I found out that you're struggling with something," he said, his voice low and husky. "And I think I know what it is." Kenzy's eyes flashed with warning. "Don't," she said, her voice firm. "Don't try to psychoanalyze me or something." Levi held up his hands in a gesture of peace. "I'm not trying to," he said. "I just... I want to help you, Kenzy. I want to know what's going on and help you through it." The air seemed to vibrate with tension as they stood there, locked in a silent understanding. Kenzy could feel her heart pounding in her chest, her pulse racing with anticipation. She didn't know what was going to happen next, but she knew she wasn't going to back down. "Look, Levi," she said, her voice firm. "I just need some space, okay?" Levi's eyes seemed to bore into her soul, as if searching for something hidden deep within. "Okay," he said finally, his voice soft. "I'll give you that." But as he turned to leave, Kenzy felt a pang of disappointment. She didn't want him to leave, not yet. She wanted to know what he was thinking, what he was going to do next. "Wait," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Levi turned back to her, his eyes questioning. "What?" Kenzy took a deep breath, trying to think of what to say next. She didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he had gotten to her, but at the same time, she couldn't shake the feeling that he had seen something in her that she didn't want him to see. "Don't do it again," she said finally, her voice firm. "Don't touch my stuff without asking." Levi nodded, his eyes locked on hers. "I won't," he said, his voice low and husky. "But can I ask you something?" Kenzy hesitated, unsure of what to say. But then, she nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "What?" "Why do you feel like you can trust me with some things, but not others?" Levi asked, his voice gentle. Kenzy's eyes locked on his, searching for something in his gaze. She didn't know what she was looking for, but she knew she wasn't going to find it if she didn't try. "I don't know," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper." Levi took a step closer, his eyes burning with intensity. "I think you do," he said, his voice soft. "I think you know exactly why I'm here." Kenzy felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that Levi was not going to give up easily. She took a deep breath, trying to think of what to say next, but before she could respond, the sound of her phone ringing broke the silence.
