"Under the Starry Skies of the Mushroom Kingdom"
Part 10
As they finished dinner, Princess Peach smiled warmly at the Mario Brothers. "I'm so glad you enjoyed the meal," she said, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Now, I'd like to invite you both for a walk under the stars. It's a beautiful evening, and I think it would be lovely to get to know you better." Mario and Luigi exchanged a glance, surprised but pleased by the invitation. They nodded in unison, and Peach led them out of the castle, into the warm evening air of the Mushroom Kingdom. The sky above was a deep shade of indigo, with stars twinkling like diamonds scattered across the fabric of the universe. As they strolled through the quiet streets of the kingdom, Peach asked them about their lives, their interests, and their passions. The brothers chatted easily, sharing stories and anecdotes that made Peach laugh and smile. As they walked, Mario kicked a small stone along the path, and Luigi playfully nudged him with his elbow. The conversation flowed smoothly, and Peach found herself feeling more and more at ease with the brothers. She realized that, despite their heroic exploits, they were still humble and kind, with a deep love for their work and their kingdom. As they paused to gaze up at the stars, Mario turned to Peach and said, "You know, Princess, we didn't always live in the Mushroom Kingdom. We actually came from Brooklyn, back on Earth." Luigi nodded in agreement. "That's right! We used to be carpenters, working on buildings and fixing things around the city." Peach's eyes widened with interest. "Really? What made you decide to leave carpentry behind?" Mario chuckled. "Well, we got a little too good at demolishing things, I guess. We ended up working for Foreman Spike's Wrecking Crew, tearing down buildings and causing a bit of chaos." Luigi shook his head, grinning. "But Spike wasn't the most pleasant boss to work for. He was always yelling and complaining, and we just didn't enjoy it anymore." Peach laughed. "I can imagine! So, what made you decide to become plumbers?" Mario shrugged. "We just kind of... fell into it, I suppose. We started Super Mario Bros. Plumbing, and it's been a wild ride ever since. We've had our ups and downs, but we love what we do, and we're proud to serve the Mushroom Kingdom." As they continued their stroll, Peach listened intently, fascinated by the brothers' stories. She felt a deep appreciation for their honesty and humility, and she knew that she had made the right decision in inviting them for a walk under the stars. The evening air was filled with a sense of camaraderie and friendship, and Peach felt grateful to have gotten to know the Mario Brothers a little better.
