"Unraveling Secrets"

Part 10

As I was getting lost in the party planning, Summer suddenly paused and turned to me with a serious look on her face. "Cohen, can I talk to you about something?" she asked, her voice a little softer than usual. I nodded, feeling a slight twinge of curiosity. "What's up?" Summer leaned in, a conspiratorial look on her face. "I heard about what happened with Seth," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. My heart skipped a beat as I felt a flush rise to my cheeks. "What are you talking about?" I asked, trying to play it cool. Summer raised an eyebrow. "Don't play dumb, Cohen. I heard you found out about Seth's crush. I'm surprised you didn't tell me about it." I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me. "How did you find out?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me. Summer shrugged. "Let's just say I have my ways. But seriously, Cohen, that's a big deal. If people find out, it could be social suicide for both of you." I felt a pang of anxiety at her words. Social suicide was exactly what I had been worried about. What if people found out about Seth's crush? Would it really be that bad? Summer continued, her voice filled with concern. "You have to be careful, Cohen. People can be cruel, and if they find out about Seth's secret, it could spread like wildfire. You don't want to be the one responsible for humiliating him in front of the whole school." I nodded, feeling a sense of responsibility wash over me. I had been so caught up in my own feelings that I hadn't thought about the potential consequences. But now that Summer had brought it up, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. As we sat there in silence, I couldn't help but wonder what I was going to do. Was I going to keep Seth's secret, or was I going to spill the beans and risk social suicide? And what about Seth himself? Was he going to make a move, or was I going to have to take the initiative? The questions swirled in my head as Summer broke the silence. "We should focus on the party for now," she said, smiling brightly. "But we need to be careful, Cohen. Very careful." I nodded, trying to push aside my worries and focus on the task at hand. But as we continued to plan the party, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was sitting on a ticking time bomb, and that one wrong move could set everything off.
