**A Glimmer of Hope**

Part 3

The next morning, Big Madam, who lived in the house next door, was watching Suzuya's father stumble out of the house, still reeking of last night's booze. She had witnessed the whole ordeal of him beating Suzuya and had instantly thought of a plan. She had always kept an eye on the young boy, feeling a pang of sympathy for him. Today, she decided to put her plan into action. Suzuya was sitting on the porch, nursing a bruise on his cheek, when Big Madam approached him. Her face was warm and inviting, a stark contrast to his parents' cruelty. "Good morning, sweetie," she said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "How are you feeling today?" Suzuya looked up at her warily, but Big Madam's kind eyes put him at ease. "I-I'm okay," he stammered. Big Madam's face softened further as she sat down beside him. She gently stroked his hair, and Suzuya couldn't help but lean into her touch. "You poor thing, you look like you could use some food," she cooed. "Why don't you come over to my house, and I'll make you some breakfast?" Suzuya's eyes lit up at the offer. He hadn't had a proper meal in days, and the thought of food was almost too much to bear. "Y-yes, please," he stuttered. Big Madam smiled and helped Suzuya to his feet. She led him to her house, where she fed him a hearty breakfast of pancakes and eggs. Suzuya devoured the food, savoring every bite. As they ate, Big Madam chatted with Suzuya, asking him about his interests and hobbies. Suzuya opened up to her, telling her about his love of drawing and playing outside. Big Madam listened attentively, her eyes shining with warmth. When Suzuya finished his meal, Big Madam gave him a big hug. "I'm so glad you're here, sweetie," she whispered. Suzuya felt a surge of happiness and hugged her back, tears welling up in his eyes. "I wish you were my mama," he whispered, his voice shaking. Big Madam's face froze, and for a moment, Suzuya thought he saw a glint of something evil in her eyes. But when she spoke, her voice was sweet and gentle. "Well, I can be your mom if you stay with me," she said, her words sending a thrill through Suzuya. Suzuya thought about it for a moment, weighing his options. He had never really had a mom or dad who cared for him, and the thought of having someone to love him was almost too good to be true. "Y-yes," he stammered, his head nodding in agreement. Big Madam's face lit up with a wicked grin as she hugged Suzuya tightly. "From now on, I'm going to be your mama, and you're going to be my son," she whispered, her voice dripping with malice. Suzuya cheered, yelling "Mama! Mama!" as Big Madam held him close. He had no idea that things were about to get much worse for him.
